This is review is on the billiards room they have their. I was here for a company outing and decided to play some pool with a co-worker or 2. Most of the time, the house cue sticks are in horrible condition. Like a beaver chewed on the cue sticks or something. But their house were in good condition. Definitely a good place to shoot pool at if you're in the area if you want to shoot at an actually pool table and not bar tables.

A mashup up music, sexual preference, and fashion....and its pirate themed. Frankly, all three work well. Lots of good hip-hop mixed with some new and old rock, but they really do mash it up to make sure there is always a beat to dance to. The main dance floor is pretty large, with seating all around and multiple large bars. Getting a drink here is no problem. If you are feeling frisky you can get up on the 2nd level (split level) on the main floor and dance away. The second floor has overhangs that allow people to chill out and take a break while observing the main dance floor. Explore more and you'll find the rear of the 2nd floor with a separate dance area with a DJ spinning a completely different set of music. This dance floor is smaller, but still had plenty of room and had the same great vibe of the main floor. This place is a lot of fun. Especially if you like dancing. Simple as that. No pretentious bouncers or unnecessary dress code (really how does wearing heels or sport jackets help us dance anyway?) :P Even if its not totally your style, its definitely a good place to try out once.

I am a big fan of Mark Bee's N. 3rd and when I heard he was reopening the Silk City Diner I became very excited. I have been here twice in the past week and I am absolutely loving it. Don't mind the typical hipster scene and sit down and enjoy a great meal. The macaroni & cheese (which rotates with a new ingredient) is absolutely delicious. The last incarnation I had was baked in a crock with garlic bread crumbs over the top. The salads are huge and delicious, the fried green tomatoes are perfectly crisp and fresh on the inside with a spicy aioli, albeit a bit expensive ($4 for four thin slices of tomato). The chipotle plum chicken wings are some of the best I've had, but nothing stacks up to N. 3rds asian-style wings. Fully stocked bar, some good brews on tap (Legacy Hedonism) and a very diverse menu will keep me coming back for more.
