Not a super fan nor a hater, but suite 181 embedded good things that I have experienced. First night; I party with a friend for his barfday. Like a single guy who likes to mingle, I ran into these two girls. They seemed the friendly girls of the city well, not them. Keep it at that. 2 floors with a very open smoking outside patio. Awesome venue. Second night; Just a random visit, me liked the "I'm just a bit late" treatment because me and my friends got in for free that night. awesome drinks, well served with right portions of alcohol to mixer ratio. The crowd was very few to none. Last visit; came late again, charged us 20 a head, and I forked out 120 to get me and my buddies in. Night was whack, the crowd was filled with my own kind, and nobody was friendly. That last visit drew the line for 181. I'm not sure if I'm coming back again...

I like asian girls, I'm asian, asian girls go to suede, I go to suede, and I experience this. 1) DJ upstairs plays shitty music 2) Asian triad wannabes at tables looking like theyre the shit with ugly fobby girls. 3) expensive drinks 4) stupid gold digging asian girls that expect you to buy them drinks 5) fobby girls galore 6) groups of girls that cockblock for each other, laaaame 7) girls and guys that can't dance 8) bartenders that only know how to make like vodka redbull. 9) asian girls that only want your attention, and perhaps some free drinks. they have no interest in you, no interest in your friends, no interest in dancing with you, etc. 10) ugly and old asian fobs.

Two words that are a must for this place: Guest List. The Good: Nice multi-lounge layout upstairs, lots of bars with good service, usually playing hip-hop (with some gratuitous trance thrown in), and clean bathrooms. The owners/managers are super cool and the parties thrown here are pretty sweet (but make sure you check who the promotor of the night is before showing up). Considering I'm not in LA anymore, the crowd is usually a fun and good-looking group. The Bad: Lines can be long, the bouncers are always cordoning off one room or another without explanation, the stage is in a weird location at the very back of the main dance hall (note to owners: people who want to dance on stage usually want to be seen), the DJs are not very responsive (it's okay to tell me you don't want to take a song request but a smoking speaker isn't exactly a minor detail in a crowded room with alcohol being splashed all over the place!), and spotlights should not be pointed directly at faces. The Ugly: Parking. But it is San Francisco and the club is on Bay Street, so what else is new? Just be prepared to circle for a long time and hike back in your heels! =P Did I mention the importance of making sure you get on the guest list?!
