last night was my third time hangin at Halo. It is one of the few places that i can go to, and be guaranteed a great time. i was pleasantly surprised to see that a bar has been added upstairs, and i love the new lighted-tables. the vibe in halo is always upbeat as is the music. being from n.y i thrive on finding places that remind me of being in the city. Hola is one of the places that is my little home away from home spot...great place to take friends.

Used to think Comcast was today's Ma Bell. Now I know UPS is. (They don't have to clean up their act. They are...UPS, in all 50 states, cities and towns thereof). I get a lot of packages via UPS. But I have frequent stressful delays and mishaps due to their inefficiency. Most recently, UPS was supposed to ship some medication for my cat on January 2 to a place I work out. It never arrived that day, even though it was "in transit" all day. The next day I called and they told me they had no idea where the package was. It was lost, but they would do a trace, which would take up to eight days. When I came home from work, the package had been delivered to my home (on January 3) as the "final delivery." I had to call up UPS once again, wait 20 minutes to talk to a supervisor, who said they could try one more time, on January 4. I again requested my office. Before hanging up, I asked "Will it arrive tomorrow on January 4 or the next day?" "If you do deliver it, will you deliver it to my home or to my office?" UPS had instructions from Costco to do a 3-day delivery on December 21. It has been two weeks and I'm still wondering whether they will screw this up once again. * * * * * On January 2, I waited for a package from http://amazon.comto be delivered The delivery person never came even though he marked "attempted delivery." Sometimes they buzz your intercom ONCE, wait two seconds, and then split. You were waiting at home just for this delivery. You missed your opportunity. * * * * * They choose the (3) days, one at a time, they will deliver to you. You only get a notice afixed to your door saying what day and what time "window" they will try next. If you request a different delivery date, you have to wait 12 consecutive hours, until 7 p.m. No "window." You wait all day (until 5 p.m.) and then the package doesn't arrive. And that is the final attempt delivery. Their depot is very far away. * * * * * UPS may be O.K. if you're a business or if your aged parents live with you. Give me Fedex, USPS, anything but UPS. I guess I have to cajole the businesses I deal with to choose another carrier.
