The $5 martinis were sickly sweet, and the sanitation practices of the manicurists were a bit dubious. However, I'm giving it 3 stars because the ambiance in Cuba Libre is always great, and for 10 bucks I can't complain that much.
by Caleb B. on A trip to DEEP is a must for any house music lover. I've been to many club nights in many places and DEEP stands up among some of the best. Great talent -- from resident selecta Marques Wyatt -- to top guests from around the country (David Morales, Quentin Harris, Miguel Migs, Mark Farina) -- to international studs (Ben Watt, Ame and more.) It's a Sunday night -- so you get some real house heads with make for one of the best weekly parties in the country. However, I won't lie -- there are also some sketchy types who are still up from the previous night (at the least) that are aware that there is a place to keep it going. Vanguard's got a great soundsystem. A great back patio and typically friendly staff. Upcoming DJs -- http://www.deep-la.com Beware of using credit cards at the Vanguard -- they usually thrown on a service charge and don't often mention that. _C$
