Naughty, expensive and spectacular. I don't care if it's not "insider" or "celeb packed" anymore. I mean, we live in the Naked City; shouldn't we not care about celeb stalking? You can't swing a dead cat without hitting someone famous for something in this city. (Hehehe, "swing a dead cat." My Texas is showing.) The show is a spectacular spectacle; a riotous riot; hilarious causing hysteria. We dropped over $100 a piece and somehow didn't mind. Love the restored Cabaret venue. Seating downtairs is comfy sofas and intimate tables but you are part of the action literally pulled into the show so be warned. It's painless fun for the most part. You will be talking about it for days. The only advice would be to skip the dinner. It's really not about the food. And finally, the later the show, the more risque the performers. So take new friends early and good friends late.

I'll admit that I kind of love the greasy wonderland that is Americanized Chinese food. Nothing says comfort food like the idea of an angioplasty. So, I can't not appreciate Golden Temple for offering a more healthful version of Chinese food and making me feel less guilty about my love of sesame chicken and lo mein. The food is good, although I don't notice a discernible taste difference between their "fresh ingredients" and the food of other restaurants that don't make the same claim, especially when it comes to the proteins and veggies. The service is on par with that of other Chinese restaurants - never excellent, occasionally deplorable - but the ambiance is unique for its elegance and evolving decor.

Edit: I changed my rating from 3 to now 1 star because the service has been horrible lately. Empty on a Saturday afternoon, and it still takes 20 minutes to order a latte because they're too busy chatting with friends. ************* I live a block away, and have come here once during the day for coffee and another time for drinks after work. So convenient! Totally different experiences, yet similar. My daytime experience was mellow as I sipped my coffee and surfed the Internet. Then on another occasion, I had about 20 friends meet up here for drinks after work to celebrate my birthday. The space was perfect to chat with all of them. Mellow, yet stylish and fun. I'd like to come here again, so I can try their food and something else besides coffee and vodka sodas.
