the order. happy hour wings happy hour calamari i dig the theme and ambience of this place. the setup is gorgeous. the thai-inspired wings were good for happy hour offerings. the coconut milk/cream dipping sauce not so much. the calamari is a miss. the lime aioli dipping sauce  was probably better than the actual calamari. the happy hour is more than reasonable. okay wine offerings. my cabernet paired really well with the food. the syrah was pretty average. the sweeter riesling had a nice subtle sweetness (apple-sweet). my only gripe is that you can't really sit anywhere. and at happy hour i kind of want to sit somewhere. maybe if i came here with reservations and had a place to sit other than in front of the bathroom, i'd like it a lot more. i don't like to wander aimlessly and pretend im comfortable. kind of hard to find but it's a gem indeed if you do find it in the alleyway off of 2nd.

SF has so many great music venues (Fillmore, Indy, Rickshaw) and you can add GAMH to the list. I would say GAMH along with Fillmore and the Indy are my top three in the city. I love the Indy because it's a smaller venue with awesome sound and every spot is a good view of the stage. GAMH is the same although definitely much larger with balcony seating as well. I came here last night for the Phantogram/XX show and had a blast. There's even a server that comes around taking drink orders AND they have $4 High Life.

I arrived at Temple on a Friday night and got in around 10:30. I have to hand it to 'em, the pad is gorgeous. It DID remind me very much of Tao in Vegas. It took my friend and I a while to notice that there were stairs leading down to two other rooms. One played jazzy House by a DJ who looked utterly bored, the other Indiana Jones room played  "Deep Dish" or whatever you call it. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful decor the place was completely dead. My friend and I think, "Hey, let's give it some time and it'll get crackin' " Wrong. We left a little before midnight because absolutely no one was dancing and I was not gonna start it up because the vibe I was feelin' from the people in there was a tad bit pretentious.
