Went here on a friday night with my cousin(two girls he knew were meeting us later) and had to wait outside while the three different doorman contemplated letting us in or not. I'm of the belief that if you act like you don't give a shit if you get in or not, you'll have better luck. The two sweater wearing frat boys in front of us obviously did not comprehend this concept as they were deathly afraid of getting rejected. Once past the nazi's(doorman) we walked in and the first thing I noticed was how small this place is. Like someone previously mentioned, coat check is in a stairwell, you think you're going downstairs but really you're just checking your coat. The actual downstairs is not tremendously big with tables on the both sides of the room, a tiny bar(in the back), and a dj at the end of the room. If you're looking to dance, this is your best bet as space is quite limited upstairs. While the bar upstairs is nice and big, the space in general isn't conducive to more then talking. Try to dance and you'll find yourself bumping into everyone. Cocktails were like 10 bucks a pop and there is a 30 dollar min for cards. People call this place a speakeasy but other then the hassle of trying to get in, I didn't really get that vibe. Honestly there are much cooler and easier places to get into in and around the area. snooze
by Vnessa M. on SWEET DREAMZ ARE MADE OF...Reminds me of the crowd from Cabin room. THIS PLACE is PERFECTLY TAILORED for this Dancing Queen's needs. I first went with my favorite Andrew, McTrouble, and it was always on the nights that were dedicated to Gay/Lesbians and African Americans. We were welcomed with open arms and always access to the larger VIP room upstairs. We would show up around 2 am and leave almost at 6 am. I never made the line because we had "people on the inside". You can just imagine the types of energy found in this place at 3 and 4 am. Most people are either on coke, weed, Ritalin, Ecstasy and/or lots of alcohol. Not bad for the all-nighters, industry people getting off work and people flying in from a different time zone or Australia... and look who is talking here? Yes, I was up until the wee hours of the night because I grew up in Miami and we started late and ..."party until 8 in the morn.." This is the perfect place to hangout if you do not intend on going to work the next 2 days. The Trance Music can get a bit annoying after you are over 35. Drinks are cheap and well, free for me, because I do not recall one single time I paid for a drink in there.
