by Madeleine R. on i recently went to buddha bar after a 1.5 year hiatus... It was a Friday night and they had literally closed off the room on the right because they didn't have enough patrons to fill the tables. The service was weird and spotty, I don't know who our waiter was- every time someone came to our table it was a different person. Regardless, they didn't mess anything up, but still it was an off dining experience. Food-wise, the duck spring rolls weren't great, the calamari was very good, and the sushi was just fine... I'd rather have the same sushi rolls for half the price at my neighborhood sushi spot. I really think Buddha Bar is going to close in the next 6 months based on what I saw there this month.
by Vnessa M. on SWEET DREAMZ ARE MADE OF...Reminds me of the crowd from Cabin room. THIS PLACE is PERFECTLY TAILORED for this Dancing Queen's needs. I first went with my favorite Andrew, McTrouble, and it was always on the nights that were dedicated to Gay/Lesbians and African Americans. We were welcomed with open arms and always access to the larger VIP room upstairs. We would show up around 2 am and leave almost at 6 am. I never made the line because we had "people on the inside". You can just imagine the types of energy found in this place at 3 and 4 am. Most people are either on coke, weed, Ritalin, Ecstasy and/or lots of alcohol. Not bad for the all-nighters, industry people getting off work and people flying in from a different time zone or Australia... and look who is talking here? Yes, I was up until the wee hours of the night because I grew up in Miami and we started late and ..."party until 8 in the morn.." This is the perfect place to hangout if you do not intend on going to work the next 2 days. The Trance Music can get a bit annoying after you are over 35. Drinks are cheap and well, free for me, because I do not recall one single time I paid for a drink in there.
by Fran Walund on Sure I've been in their suites, and yes, the lobby, and also the pool area, and I think I've always had a raging good time. But if you ask me to describe anything or anyone, I'm at a complete loss. Alcohol is bad.
