i always go there when in town, i went 12/21 and 12/19 during a day and it was very so so ... dancers didnt feel like dancing and it seemed like the manager ( bald guy) had to make em dance and look for em every time it was time to dance or sing.... also they didnt keep entertainment going all the time and there were people at the tables and bar... usually it's more outgoing experience , maybe cause it's before holidays...

I'm from LA. I grew up at Hollywood Clubs. I love me some Abbey, Fiesta Cantina, and even Rage. Hell, growing up I hit Tigerheat and I worked Lucky Sundays... Ever since being in SF I've always felt like I just couldn't get the same gay danceclub vibe in The Bay. Cafe is fun but a bit off, Badlands is cracktastic, 440 is themed not Thom, Lime is great for food and drinks but not dancing, Blackbird is better than LA typically is, but definitely not a danceclub... For the first time in a very very long time I feel confident in saying that Trigger has achieved the LA Vibe and is quickly becoming the top dance club for the fabulous of the Castro. The place glitters and shimmers -- the music is a great mix of 80s and 90s remixes with housed up top hits. The drinks are cheap and strong -- they have theme nights (Testarossa Mondays is the best name for an 80s night of all time, and Juicy Thursdays is fantastic for a hip hop night). They have specials that are fantastic practically every night (things like 1$ svedka drinks, free champagne til 11, free margaritas when asking "whatchu talkin bout willis" during 80s nights, free water bottles at exit...) I mean, what could be better? From the gogo cage in the middle of the bar, to the second floor balcony that allows guys to creepily watch their prey... the place feels just like good ole LA WeHo Fierce. So do you want to go dancing in The Castro and have an amazing time? ***and we've got a failed pun here!*** Pull The Trigger.

We were trying to get to Bissap Baobab, but since it was closed, we went to this incarnation of it. I liked the intimate bar feeling, and everyone seemed laid back and upbeat there. They had cheap beer (could it have been a mistake that I was charged only $1.75 for a Franzikaner in SF?), tasty fried plaintains and shrimp with coconut, all rocking to African music, not bad at all.
