by Patricia G. on Word of advice to self: Do not come here on a Friday night! (It's Asian night) Now I am Asian myself, but I prefer clubs with a more diverse selection of people. It's cool when I just wanna get effed up and not care and dance like a crazy person. But when you feel like actually meeting new folks, probably not the best idea. Went here last night (Friday night) for my cousin's birthday and had a bunch of family in tow, so when I just hit the line and realized that it was Asian night, I probably would have bolted right then and there had I not been with the family. It wasn't even 11 yet and as a chick didn't have to pay cover, but my guy cousins did - 10 bucks, which I guess by Hollywood standards is actually pretty cheap. The music was okay. It had its moments. The DJ played some hot hip hop tracks... some old school, some recent, a nice mix really. But I guess later the DJs changed and I started sobering up so it started to suck. And the fact that there was only one teeny dance floor didn't help. Again, I probably won't go back on a Friday night ever, and even then LAX is not high on my list of Hollywood clubs.
by Monica t. on Tuesday night happy hour is always a great deal. Nick's crispy tacos are delicious and the drinks are always fabulous. It is also a fun venue to hold a party or get together.
by Monroe Desiga on It's last call and my mind is screaming "BUT I DON'T WANNA GO HOME!" What? I can dance my brains out to House with my fellow after-party lovers *and* have more drinks? (in my best Napoleon Dynamite impression)...YESSSS! This place falls very low in the fabulous decor scale, but who cares when you're walkin' that walk and all ya wanna do is DANCE, DANCE , DANCE! If you love House music (and oh how I loves me some House music), I think Insomnia has some of the best in the city. If you like double drinks for the price of a single, Insomnia has that covered too (love u Alberto). If your kinda peeps are the real, non-pretentious, after-party lovin, non-stop smile wearin', listen when you tell them to step-off kinda peeps, you needs ya some Insomnia.
