Why am I giving it 4 stars when most of my review is gonna be complaints? Cuz if you love trance like I do, you know it's not easy to find a club around here that plays it. So when I can't find a rave, RS is the next best thing. Ok now my complaints: expensive. Horrible lines. Dirty bathrooms. Gets too crowded on the dance floor. I already said expensive but I'll say it again - expensive. Alright, I'm done!

I've always liked Genki. A recent lunch with Carrie Neal W. at the Buckhead location brought back memories of my single-and-living-in-Atlanta days, going out on the town with my girlfriends.  Genki was often on the evening agenda, a convenient and hip spot for a group to "pre-game" before heading over to Churchill's/5P/Pool Hall/McDuff's.  Oh, the nostalgia. It doesn't even matter if you don't like sushi.  There are plenty of other things on the menu to whet your appetite, such as the grilled beef, chicken, and shrimp rice bowl or a variety of entree salads.  I myself am not a sushi lover, but the Genki Tuna was out of sight!  The perfect combination of textures and flavors - and that spicy Ponzu sauce was so delicious I think I might have double dipped!

I had a blast here on saturday night for my birthday. My GF, B set it all up and everything was perfect! We got a private room with glass walls. Very cool.. good waitress too. She made sure everyone was happy and taken care of. We ordered a humongous bottle of sake about the size of my torso for $150. I forget the name, but it tasted divine. Between the 9 of us, some alkies, some not, we manged to finish it off. Food was pretty good, but I think the service takes the cake. I was too wasted to remember what the food tasted like.. doing too many shots of sake can have that effect. But, I do remember that the sushi chefs sent over a complimentary sashimi appetitzer. Yummmm.. B knows the manager there (Tawni) and she did a wonderful job hooking us up! Thanks Tawni! We all got VIP access to the rooftop where we continued the debauchery. Before going there, we checked out the club downstairs (3 level restaurant/lounge) and it was poppin. But the roof was less stuffy.. I like fresh air. Good venue for a special occasion!
