I'm a big of the Lick have been since our first visit and then move to Austin. Living in N Austin I went crazy-like when I heard they were opening up a location in R/Rock. Long story short, the R/Rock location is a full 1-2 stars behind the original one. Having gone to the new location numerous times, it just doesn't have the feel and what's most disturbing is it appears to be running itself without any serious management. Employees running around laughing, talking about their "date" the night before, forgetting side dishes etc. The 4 stars are for Driftwood.....2 stars for R/Rock. Hire some Management please. It's a BBQ joint - not a nightclub.

4.5 stars This karaoke place just opened two weeks ago and I think it's my new favorite karaoke destination. When I first walked into this place by accident last night, I had no idea what this place was ... I was greeted by a surge of florescent blue light and I saw bottles of liquor displayed on the shelf of the back wall. There were several hallways leading to private rooms. The sign looks like it reads " Fee ! " and I thought I stumbled into some trendy underground hostess bar / escort service facility / happy ending massage parlor. Upon further inspection though, I saw a collection of about 200 microphones hanging on the left wall. *Clicking Noise. Light On.* Ohhhhh, this is a KTV / Noreban / Karaoke place! My friend and I just finished up at a teahouse next door (Haroo Tea House) and the night was still young so we decided we wanted to see who would break down and say "Uncle" first and thus end the bleeding and suffering our ears would be put through for the next potential sixty minutes. There are 23 private rooms at Feel. It was a Thursday night at around 10:30 pm. This place had only been around for two weeks now.... WE STILL HAD TO WAIT TEN MINUTES FOR OUR ROOM! IT WAS AT FULL CAPACITY!!! WTH? How did people know this place existed? It's on the second floor of some obscure building between Sixth and Wilshire and you wouldn't be able to see it from the street level off of Harvard Boulevard unless you knew how to read Korean. The staff (minus the girls at the cashier desk) were super friendly and my friend and I ended up getting a medium sized room that fits about 6 heads comfortably. There were two 42" plasmas on opposite walls of the room, affording you the opportunity to sing to your victim directly and not have to turn around to look at the lyrics behind you (or try to discern the lyrics from the reflection of a mirror!) Whoever thought of two plasmas had some foresight I must say. The rooms are super clean (It just opened so I hope they maintain it this way) with comfortable couches and a trendy/modern feel. The remote is a little confusing at first but just ask the staff what buttons to press and they'll gladly explain everything with a smile. This place closes at 2:00 am everyday and they serve beer, sochu, and hard liquor. They do not have Yogurt or Lemon Sochu for all you mixed drinkaholics out there. The hard liquor is ordered by the bottle and is obviously marked up like at most Korean places (bottle of Grey Goose for $130, bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue for $250, Ballantines 30 year Scotch for $800) but at least they have a good selection of high end spirits should you feel like dropping that kind of dough. The medium sized room costs $25 per hour which is cheap compared to other places in K-town. I believe the small rooms run you about $20. The largest room can fit up to 40 people but I don't know what the hourly rate is on that sucker. Lastly, in addition to the standard tambourines, you can also request to borrow some outrageous wigs they have available for your usage/performance/Korean Karaoke debut. I thought that would be a fun drunken activity but I'm not sure how clean those wigs are so be ready to purchase some Nix at your local pharmacy to get rids of the lice you might get. The song selection is average for a Korean karaoke place but the sound system is pretty darn good. There is valet parking for $2.00 ($1.00 if you go to Haroo Tea House or Feel) located behind the building. Don't even attempt street parking after 8:00 pm unless you like feeling like a stalker in your car. I usually go to Rosen, Orchid, or Palm Tree for my karaoke urges but I think I'm going to go to Feel from now on.
