by David P. on My ears are still bleeding from last night's party. Yes, I realize it's a Korean nightclub and, as of the last time I checked the mirror, I am white. If it's any justification, I tagged along with some friends who know the bouncers, so we got to skip the line and pay no cover. I liiiike. Here is the rundown....Maybe it was a fluke last night, but the ratio of guys to girls was as close to parity as you'll see ever in NYC. In addition, the ratio of cute girls to ugly friends was actually VERY impressive as well. Unfortunately, that's where the good times stop. The dance floor was packed like a sardine can, and the music was so ridiculously loud, I had to text message my friend who was standing next to me just to tell him I was leaving. I am not exaggerating when I say that my ears are still ringing from last night; it got to the point that it was painful. And in terms of the music they try to kill you with...I don't know whether they have a real DJ or an ipod set to shuffle songs every 20 seconds; the result is the same. Perhaps if they let in 10% less people and turned the music down about 20 decibels, this place would deserve at least 4 stars, but those 2 aspects are really what kept me from having a good time last night. I ended up leaving at 2am simply because it really isn't worth going deaf at such a young age.
by Catherine H. on I was here for my 21st birthday and it was a disappointment. Music was bad, service was bad, crowd was ultra-bad. It was so bad I started to drink vodka like it was water to try to ease the bad-ness, which worked to a certain degree. I believe it was upstairs that was hip-hop and downstairs that was techno, anyway it hardly makes a difference. The crowd was a mess, I can't even describe it, everyone was below average and kind of awful, pathetic men trying to say something smooth to impress me, girls dressed in polyester or trying to be all nyc-trendy but failing miserably. I didn't enjoy the music and the promoter my cousin was friends with turned out to be the biggest douchebag of all. At least one of my friends had a good time, how that happened I have no idea.
by Tempie Shetter on Went on a Thursday and it was pretty dead.. the crowd that night was soso looks wise but I think they were hosting a birthday party so maybe thats why.. The setup inside is really cool, elaborate decor, feels sophisticated.. cocktails were standard ten bucks a pop.. didn't try the food but the wine was good. I'd definitely go back but on a night where it's more lively. It's a good spot to bring someone from out of town.
