by David P. on My ears are still bleeding from last night's party. Yes, I realize it's a Korean nightclub and, as of the last time I checked the mirror, I am white. If it's any justification, I tagged along with some friends who know the bouncers, so we got to skip the line and pay no cover. I liiiike. Here is the rundown....Maybe it was a fluke last night, but the ratio of guys to girls was as close to parity as you'll see ever in NYC. In addition, the ratio of cute girls to ugly friends was actually VERY impressive as well. Unfortunately, that's where the good times stop. The dance floor was packed like a sardine can, and the music was so ridiculously loud, I had to text message my friend who was standing next to me just to tell him I was leaving. I am not exaggerating when I say that my ears are still ringing from last night; it got to the point that it was painful. And in terms of the music they try to kill you with...I don't know whether they have a real DJ or an ipod set to shuffle songs every 20 seconds; the result is the same. Perhaps if they let in 10% less people and turned the music down about 20 decibels, this place would deserve at least 4 stars, but those 2 aspects are really what kept me from having a good time last night. I ended up leaving at 2am simply because it really isn't worth going deaf at such a young age.
by Alice K. on Busby's isn't a place where I would want to go again willingly. The reason why I'll go is a friend happens to have their birthday there. It is small and overcrowded. It is hard to get drinks at the bar due to the overcrowding. Also, the dance floor has a cheesy school dance atmosphere. In one word "gross". The good thing about Busby's is the drinks aren't overpriced and they are quite generous will the alcohol.
by Nohemi Baros on 5 stars for the Friday nights..They have had some good dj's over here..I have even seen Tommy Lee once! :) If you like house/techno, you should definitely check it out on a Friday night! Not a fan of saturdays here personally..
