by Ting S. on If the toughest part of your day is making the trek out here through the Chelsea gallery neighborhood, then I guess the best way to recovery is by throwing back some drinks while taking in a waterfront view and cooling off in the "sea" breeze. Other tips to recovery: - Arrive before the crowd to get prime peanut gallery seats. - Don't let the giraffe (model) scenesters and accompanying modelizers deter you from indulging in some food - the fries are perfect! - Get over the price tag of the average drinks. You're paying for the view and the scene, not the drinks.
by Sylvia H. on The night I came here with my friends for my bday celebration, they were playing trance music. I am not a fan of this type of music, but instead of leaving, my friends and I stuck with it and danced. The dance floor is a pretty good size and it wasn't super crowded. I don't remember much about this place since I was pretty inebriated, however I do remember it had good decor and certainly the ambiance was very good. It is a bit pricey to get into the club in the first place, however I definitely think it is worth it to at least experience this place once.
by Deandrea Schuller on Phoenix Landing is an interesting place. In the morning, it's a football bar (the "football" football time, not the American kind). At night, it can turn into a dance club, apparently. When I've been there though, it's been a good bar experience. I ended up going to the Happy Hour they had with David M. and others, and while I was a little bit more impressed with the chicken fingers than he was, I do agree that the fries are hit and miss (the curry isn't that good in the curry fries). The beer and the atmosphere was good though, and the price was right for happy hour, and the service was good. I'd love to check it out some time in the morning during the EPL season, because I would assume that it's raucous.
