Impressive space! From the moment you enter the dining room, the striking open space is stunning. Service was impeccable. Ordered the Peking duck entrée, it was average. Other items ordered that evening was sushi and grilled chicken , both receiving higher marks than the duck. Dessert was the perfect touch to a great meal. Towards the evening, a DJ was spinning a great mix and the room really filled up.

Worth what you'll spend? Worth more than the $$ you fork out. Good service? Uh huh. Decent ambience? Yes. Not many places combine bar and cafe effectively. Food/drinks tasty? Sure! Free refills on soda? Yes. 100% awesome! Bonus points for? Fre wi-fi. Great place to chill out and do homework during the day, or to grab drinks in a place that's busy but not packed. If you're bringing a laptop, consider also toting along a 6'-12' extension cord. There are usually enough outlets along the walls, but not in the middle of the room. I think they turn off wi-fi around 9 p.m. It's a great place to get sandwiches, coffee, and other light food during the day. At night it becomes a lounge/bar and the prices on booze are reasonable.

I had no idea Sugar turns into a "bar" of sorts at night...and really still don't, except for what I've read on rateclub. I only know Sugar in its daytime persona: a very slick but very comfortable, neighborhood coffee house. And what a great coffee house it is. Great coffee, comfortable places to sit, awesome fireplace, free WiFi, etc. The thing that usually drives me nuts about some coffee houses--noise (since I usually go to them to read--is nonexistent. Perhaps that changes at night when Sugar turns into a "bar," but during the day, it's very chill.
