Many years ago Thursday nights at sidetracks was alot of fun. As a matter of fact Thursady thru Saturday nights were good with a very nice mix crowd. Since its renovations(which looks nice), Thursday-Saturday nights are big waste of time, especially Thursday. The dance floor reduce to a 1/3. They have people wait out on line for a while, trying to attract more outsiders as if this a Manhattan club. By the time you get inside there's a large mob at the bar with two bartenders taking the orders. Even if you think you're saving money with there open bar special from 1130- 130. The size of the bar from its orginally design is reduce to a 1/3. So you kill yourself waiting online for 30 minutes, and then another 30minutes shoving your way to the bar making sure you don't piss yourself or the people around you as they wait and scream to get the attention of the bartender....Well before you know it the open bar special is over!!! This place was once a proud irish pub..,with buy backs from the bartenders and friendly attitude. If you're going for a meal enjoy...I hear the crabcakes are decent, but everything is a waste of time. Oh don't forget their "VIP" treatment. They say if you have a "VIP" card you avoid the line with the party that's with you!!! You might as well tell your friends to arrive 2hours before you, because they'll be waiting on line with the rest of the undesirables. .

Imagine yourself in the faux Hollywood set of a rock music video: Gorgeous decor, superb sound, fantastic lights, lubricating liquor, jamming crowd, the faint smell of herb wafting through the air, close enough to taste the sweat of the lead singer... It's like everything you wish you could have based on those fooltastic Def Leppard concert videos of the 80's, where the crowd truly seems part of the act. This is what seeing a show at GAMH actually feels like. I can't recommend it highly enough. Look at their schedule online, find a band you know (or one you've only heard of) and get yourself a ticket. In fact, get yourself a couple and invite a friend to experience this as well. They'll forever love you for it. And maybe you can get them to pay for a free dance at the strip club next door on your way home.
