by Eric B. on Last of the decent places to eat and drink in this area. When the neighborhood opens up a nightclub down the block that is "Eco-friendly" you can best bet a place like this is on the endangered species list. Ear Inn has great atmosphere that cant be replicated or imitated. The character of this place can only be earned by the test of time. Dining area reminds me of a set from the movie Popeye, and the food is surprisingly good. Please try to go while its still around.
by Humberto Reineking on When it comes to clubs, it's all about personal preference. To me, Saint is high on the list. I don't understand all these bad reviews, really... Starting at the door, the bouncers are professional and polite. They realize that you don't have to bean asshole to everyone who walks through the door. Then again, they probably don't deal with as many idiots as you would normally find at some other places. You pay the cover (which might be steep for some) and head down the stairs. I'm immediately a fan of the decor, modern but not outrageously flashy-as your wander about the place you'll find it matches every else. Saint gives you options-there are two and a half rooms where you can hang out. The main room which contains a small dance floor caters to most people. Tables are always reserved, but you can usually sit until someone tells you to move. Room two in the back is a little more chill, more places to lounge and a little more intimate for those. I get a more homey vibe from this place though I can't really explain why. Room 1/2 is basically the area between the other two rooms, but also contains a small bar and is generally not too crowded. All in the all, the venue is small compared to some of large clubs, but the staff is polite, music is good, and I've never had to wait too long for a drink. The crowd is borderline 20s/30s, but I don't get that 'I still live on campus' vibe. People can get dressy, and most actually look comfortable. My only gripe is that the seating in room one cuts off the dance floor from the bar, and makes the place feel smaller than it needs to be. Drinks are a little pricey, but I like this place enough that I really don't mind. It's a good vibe, and it suits me. A little dressier, a little older, but still young enough that you can get drunk off your rocker and then hit up Chinatown to satisfy your munchies. Gooo Chinatown!
by Natalia J. on This place is huge. I think I counted about 4 different lounge areas. There's a bar area when you first walk in. Then there's another one next to it with red lights. Then there is the garden. Then there is the upstairs "penthouse" lounge where most people go to dance and smoke. It's almost impossible to get a drink from the bar there. No cover. Seems to be a popular place for tourists, B&T, big groups. Almost every girl was wearing a dress and heels. I felt too dressed down with flats and jeans. The food tastes horrible so I highly recommend that dinner takes place elsewhere.
