by Monica Ghee on Their website makes them sound so good, but it's all pretense. The only good thing that led from us coming here was that we discovered all the bars and clubs up the street from this place. Two clubs in one, omg, this is great! They lie. It's a trailer stacked next to another trailer filled with flip flop wearing tools who are shuffling their feet in an attempt to urr, dance? Don't go into the basement, you'll come out smelling like mildew and that's a smell harder to get rid of than cigarette smell. Pass!
by Terresa Brigham on With three floors, tis is a big place. But I wouldn't go here again if there wasn't another event being held there. But to be fair, I haven't tried the food here. . . Just the drinks and music. So about the atmosphere, drinks and music: downstairs where the main party goes on is loud and the dj doesn't do a good job at mixing differnet genres smoothly. The crowd wasnt very attractive, though ranged in age. The bar was hard to access (too crowded) but there was plenty of dance room on the dance floor. The bathooms werent dirty but they got smelly after awhile into the night, and for whatever reason, they thought it was a good idea to keep the doors open to air them out. NO. not a good idea, mr. bathroom manger. 'Cuz it stunk up the hallway when you passed by. The second floor is the dining area and there was another smaller bar and dancing area on the top floor. More room and less crowded up here. I had more of my drinks up here and enjoyed it better. Cleaner bathrooms :) Ummm, convenient to the midtown area, but certainly not a favorite of mine.
by Cade P. on I like this place. I don't get to go very often because my gay friends are lame and don't like to go dancing. WTF? I usually go with a mixed crowd or just straight friends. But it's a fun place regardless and I've been going for years. Though I didn't move to SF until 2007, I have been hitting this spot since the turn of the millenium. Granted, my first time there back in 2001, while dancing, a seriously manic, super-sweaty, water-bottle-chugging guy collapsed right in front of me and died (I didn't find out until later), the rest of my experiences have been good. The place is quite huge. When you first walk in, it can seem a bit dark and scary. The only really scary thing about this place is the bathrooms. YUK! No only do they have a piss stall for the guys, but there's usually a massive (piss?) puddle surrounding it. But the rest of the place makes up for it. Upon entering, there's a large bar and the bartenders are usually quite good. The prices are a bit on the high side whenever I go (2 well mixed drinks was $13 tonight...seriously? and the door charge tonight was $15. WTF x2!) Beyond the big bar, there's a nice sized dance floor. The DJs seldom disappoint me, and tonight was no exception. He was excellent. Beyond that is a large back patio ( LARGE ), where you can chill out, sit down, smoke-`em-if-you-got-`em and watch the dance floor or just listen to the music flowing out towards you. There are large double-glass sliding doors that go directly from the dance floor to the patio, but the music isn't too loud from it so you can enjoy a conversation with friends outside. Tonight, I went with some old college friends who came in from out of town. We had a good time. My only beef is that they often don't have cigarettes for sale (ask at the coat check), but there IS a huge all-night gas station catty-corner from The End Up. If you leave to go get some, make sure when you leave that they'll let you back in. Have that stamp on your wrist and it's wise to ask the exit doorman if he'll let you back in. I am not sure if they always have an in-and-out policy, but it never hurts to ask.
