I turned 21 in June and last night was my first clubbing experience. I'm so glad I spent it at Mezzanine :D Got there around 10:30, waited in line for about 15 minutes, $12 cover, checked in coat and clutch for $4. Very clean bathrooms. Huge dance floor. Lively crowd. Few creepy old guys, but mostly attractive 20-somethings. My only qualm is that sweat was condensing on a large exposed ceiling pipe and dripping onto the middle of the dance floor. Everyone who got dripped on was like wth? GROSSS!!!! including myself :T The DJs were pretty good. Mixed together some incredible music. I enjoyed 60%. The main guy got frustrated by the drunk girls trying to dance on the stage and seemed to give up all together before the night was through :( We took breaks upstairs on comfy cushioned benches. Had to walk back downstairs to get soda water from the main bar. The bartenders were very attentive. Was acknowledged right when my hand touched the counter :) I wish I had had cash on me to tip the hot bartender w/glasses and tattoos. Will be sure to bring cash for him next time :) Thank you, hot bartender! :P Got tired of the lackluster dance floor music and wandered into the mezzanine in front. Incredible! The DJs there always had great music. The seating was very comfortable and we had a great time :D Thank you, Mezzanine, for an incredible experience. PS- I saw an older gentleman unlock chains around his car near the club. I wonder if he's the club owner :P It would be a dream to meet the owner of Mezzanine :]

So I came here for my friend's 22nd birthday. We got here rather early (around 10) because we didn't want to have to pay a heavy cover. $10 to get in. And when we got in, we were greatly dismayed to find that the place was pretty much empty. It was early, but according to the bouncer outside, there was a big event going on at some other club I can't remember. So what do you do in an empty club? Bee line to the bar. I asked the bartender if she knew how to make a Silverback. She didn't (I swear, there is only one place I know that knows how to make this), but offered to make it for us if I told her how (which was actually pretty nice of her as some places don't do that... then again it was not busy at all). We decided to order something else, in case of getting robbed on a drink. We had a round of Washington Apple shooters. Now, these things are supposed to be delicious, barely a hint of alcohol taste with a pleasant apple flavored aftertaste. However, the ones here were awful (or good, depending on how you look at it). It was quite the opposite of how it should be. It was a strong drink with barely a hint of the Apple Pucker... So for the people who want to get drunk fast, I suppose it's a good thing... Five shooters for $45... After sitting around for about half an hour, taking pictures, watching the few people coming in and out of the club (loads of of ghettofab people amongst the awkward barflowers), we left. $10 for 30 minutes. Wow... I'm rather surprised at this experience as my friends say that it is a really nice place, etc. And I'm sure I'll come back as my friends will probably come back. Hopefully on a better day.

Continental - Where looks come first, and food comes second. The place oozes of coolness and style in terms of appearance - decor, food, drinks. Hanging birdcage chairs, colorful couches, and one way bathroom mirrors, add some fun to inside of the restaurant. Everything is pretty chic and hot, including the hostess and wait staff. The food, though decent, isn't anything special and needs some life or inspiration. Another nail in the coffin are the high prices which do not match the unspectacular food. Continental Midtown has flare and is worth a trip perhaps once or twice- but don't go for the food value. Be willing to pay for "tapas" portions and for presentation rather than taste.
