Slide sounds like some dingy dive bar but boy oh boy, it definitely is not dingy nor divey. It is very much upscale and chic with black leather booths and very dark decor. Even the chandeliers were elegant and fancy shmancy. You enter the venue from upstairs and you walk down into the bar/dance floor/booths. Sharon Q. is totally on point about the logistics of this club. The main dance floor is being shared with the people drinking and standing around at the bar and also the wallflowers hanging around the booths. I can see how this place can be a total cluster fcuk on busy nights. The DJ booth is stuck on the side of the dance floor near the women's restroom. The music, for the most part, was really good that night. Everyone was drinking and dancing and having a good time away from the rain. Drinks were cheap compared to what we pay in LA/OC. It only set us back $10 a pop! Don't forget to experience why this place is actually called Slide. There's an actual slide below the staircase!

I went there for the first time last night. I never in my life would I of thought I would of seen something like this. A club in N.Y.C. with almost no people of color. I counted 2 other than myself. Don't get me wrong the drinks are amazing, and the women are beautiful, however they need a little flavor in that club and I mean right now! Don't get me wrong I love White people, I would just like to see some of mine when I party.

The Inman park area just continues to impress me, and Parish certainly had a lot to do with it. They've done an amazing job with the atmosphere and vibe of the place...it may be even more impressive than the actual food. They start by bringing out an amazing piece of bread in a paper bag, that you pass around the table. It seriously is one of the best pieces of bread I've had in a while. Being a Cajun style place, they have a large selection from the Abita brewery in Louisiana...they aren't bad. The best part of my meal was the Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo...it was just the perfect amount of spicy. My friend had some too and we didn't leave a drop. My andouille crusted catfish was extremely satisfying, but I got the feeling that everyone else thought their meal was only slightly above average. After the meal, we went downstairs to check out the market area and get a coffee...another cool concept. It would be nice to go back and grab food from the market and sit on the nice patio they have in the back. Overall, the menu could offer more and the food could be better...but the atmosphere makes up for it and it's worth trying.
