I go there a lot for Stop Biting, the best hip-hop/electronic/etc dance night in Seattle. I don't dance, so I find the comfy couches useful. I love the layout of the place, and the decorating. The place is a hole in the wall, low key, and kind of sketchy (ALL IN A GOOD WAY). It's kind of like Cheers for me, everyone is a regular. I wish they had more art and live acts instead of the same djs all the time. The djs are fantastic, don't get me wrong, but it needs something more to keep my interest. I always fantasize about how I might improve the place if I owned it, but alas, it is home anyway.

This place makes me want to remember how to say "incredible" in espanol! My two semesters of college Spanish fail me yet again :( I went with a group for a special night out, and someone in our party was able to reserve this beautiful private room. It was up a small and rather treacherous flight of stairs, and it looked like something out of Scarface, all white leather and mirrors, with velvet wallpaper. It was really incredible atmosphere. We started drinking and the cocktails were good, strong, and the service was consistent through out our two to three hour visit, despite the fact that the main dining room was packed by the time we left. The food- WOW! Very, very good. Someone in our group ordered the Mole and it was delectable. The best I've ever had, easily. My enchilada plate was also outstanding. I don't know if I'd like to be there on a weekend night without some sort of reservation though. I know the place is a pretty hot Hollywood landmark, but if you've got a special occasion coming up, consider booking that little white room- it's worth it!!!!

Do not come to Zoo Bar if you want to just lay back and lounge. This is definitely an amplified club where everyone is always on their feet and dancing. In fact, sometimes is wayyy to many people there to even dance. This club has gone through many different name changes, but the building is still the same. There are three floors, although only the first two are used frequently. There are bars on both floors, and a couple of pool tables on the bottom floor (which can get in the way sometimes). The stage is kind of circular, usually hip hop artist would perform up there. Below the stage is the square, not-too-big dance floor for all the debauchery. This club is right next door to St. Andrews (18+ up crowd), so the streets are always packed with people. My advice is to get there early...regardless of what day you go. Also, go with patience.... because you will need it.
