I happen to frequent this particular watering hole. It is not a dance club, nor is it a dive. It is a nice sports bar with a great atmosphere. Its real claim to fame are the amazing burgers and lavosh. This is a place I love to go relax, drink a beer, have a conversation, and occasionally play in a bean bag tournament.

It's 9-ish on a Friday night and I call my gay husband. Me: Sugar-pie, do you want to have a drink with me and the BF/BD (boyfriend/baby-daddy)? GH: I just woke up from my cat nap honey-cakes and I sure could use a couple laps from my favorite vodka tonic stream So we made the trip from NoHo to WeHo and the three of us end up at Trunks. The drinks were pretty strong (I am told), I drank wine, and cheap. I've never seen a vodka tonic served in a stein before - I thought that was quite novel. The place was nice and not too crowded. Bartenders were very friendly and so was the crowd. There were a couple of pool tables and a D.J. playing some cool tunes to enhance the mood just right, not too loud. I was very pleased with the clean bathrooms as well - always a plus! All in all we had a fun time and it was a very nice diversion from our usual watering holes.

Review is for the music space only (regardless--this would have only been a 1 star for the nightclub as well). It is really unfortunate b/c I did want to give Webster a chance so many many times.. I last saw Broken Social Scene here, and my anticipation was dampened by the fact that they were booked here. Despite garnering talents such as BSS and fairly known bands, what hinders Webster from ever legitimizing itself as a music venue is that it basically lacks a good sound system. It is quite sad especially since WH is steeped in so much history. It is always a disappointment when bands I like are booked here. The acoustics range from fair (middle of the room) to horrible (anywhere veering from the center point). This is especially the case when you are right smack in front of the stage (where I usually like to be) and the speakers elude your ears. Consequently, I haven't been here in the past year. Perhaps there have been improvements? Please let me know if this is the case, although I wouldn't bank on it :T

I had an absolutely amazing meal here during Midtown Atlanta restaurant week. The food was reasonably priced, but still innovative and tasty. I remember loving the buffalo chicken livers, the peach salad and the kit kat bar dessert. The host was little overly friendly, but that's such a minor thing. My only qualm (and reason for four stars rather than 5) is that I've read Concentrics is doing some chef shuffling, so the menu might be changing here. Sigh. ONE has always been my favorite of the Concentrics group- definitely the most consistent, and now that too might be ruined.
