I remember coming to Parish for brunch a couple of times before I left Atlanta -- both times I enjoyed myself. I believe there was a crabcakes benedict that I fancied as well as some yummy beignets. Very NoLa style. I remember there was a cool little market downstairs as well. The ambiance and location had a rustic/modern feel to it. It's certainly a place I'd recommend to people in the area if they were looking for some tasty brunch items with a Creole twist.

I had a really good time here. I was already 2.5 sheets to the wind when I got here with a margarita and lots of Saki under my belt. I ordered a Sam Adams Summer Ale, and my girlfriend ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. Out they came, both in these huge glasses. I think they were like 24 oz. I've never seen a mixed drink this huge. I don't recall everything from that evening but I think hers was the ridiculous price of like only 8 dollars or something. As I do with every new bar I encounter I thoroughly inspect the jukebox. It was pretty darn good for a dive, and it had one of my favorite Tom Waits albums "Small Change". Among other stuff I played something from that album. This must of inspired me, because I was singing "The Piano has been Drinking(Not Me)" from that very album at National Mechanics by the end of the night.

I've seen one show downstairs here and it was a nice atmosphere. Though the concept of dinner during a show was new to me, I'm now a fan because it caters perfectly to my inner sloth, glutton, alky and music fan all at once. Beautiful! The upstairs however merits its own separate, I'd give it 3. As someone mentioned they've got this weird Central Perk decor going on, it resembles some dorm living rooms I've seen. Also, the open mic is kinda crap (as are most) and the patrons are your typical UC monstrosities. However the older punk rock bartender lady is really nice and funny, and they have nice beer selections on tap. But if it's food you want, go downstairs, whatever the hell they did to the hot wings on the way upstairs just completely wrecked them into a mess of burnt, unflavored chicken parts.
