I'm drooling over the cowboy hats out of the corner of my eye, and half-hoping some cavalier guy will mosey over and ask me to two-step (while half-hoping they won't because I don't actually know how!). Halfway into my second drink, I do get asked. Which is just enough alcohol -- and enough swarthy-stranger -- to make me spring forth for the dance floor. Unfortunately, my par'dner seemed to know less about the two-step than me, and we were kind of awkwardly marching around the ring with bad rhythm, stepping on each other's feet, and generally feeling uncomfortable. Not the sweeping footloose fantasy I'd had in mind! Ah, well. Kelly S -- not wanting my first Austin country bar experience to be anything less than stellar -- escorted me herself around the dance-floor for a song, giving great lessons all the while. And I have to say, we were the hottest girl-girl couple (well, also the only! ;) throwing down out there. PS) I did brave the floor once more when I heard the Cupid Shuffle come on -- now, there's a dance I know!

Overpriced. Over hyped. Devoid of culture and cuisine. Poorly constructed dishes and ideas. More "Asian Fusion" than Japanese. Bottom line: This place is for the average yuppy or business man who is ignorant of culinary depth, experience or taste in general. I wouldn't feed this pretentious fusion nonsense to my dog.

Chic, Cheap, Stylish, comfortable! Sugar Cafe has what I need and is right by my house. It's not very packed here but I love it!!! Their pastries = Top Notch Iced Coffee and Latte = Top Notch Comfort = EXCELLENT Beautiful open Window letting in tons of light. The wi-fi is fast enough. I love their couches and can sit there for hours! Second to none and one of the few cafes that accepts credit cards. Plus, starting at noon, they have a full bar!
