Yes it's pricey Yes it takes 20 minutes to get your cocktail... and they cost an arm and a leg. Yes it's in ghetto(ish) East Austin Yes it's always crowded But they make the best damn Sazerac this side of the Mississippi. (The Gin FIzz and Gin Martini are good too).

I'm not sure this place actually exists, but I had $1 Bloody Mary Oyster shooters from here at a festival in SF recently and they were killer.

I was sorely disappointed in this place after reading some of the rave reviews, not to mention their deceiving ad and press in 7x7.  The build-out is somewhat unimpressive... It's classical but I expected at least somewhat of a modern flare based on their advertising.  Stodgy and uncreative.  We had a 10:00 resie for drinks and when we arrived they said the table wasn't quite ready so they sat us in the 'game room'.  We were the only souls in there but we didn't mind because we were catching up with friends.  This is where the service issues begin... It was nearly 20 minutes before we were greeted by a waitress, and she was less than helpful.  We asked for some recommendations on the house cocktail list and she simply replied with "I don't drink those, so I don't know."  Hmm... I guess we were putting her out.  Even when we asked about a specific cocktail she still was blank.  When we asked if our table (which the host had referred to earlier) was ready, she said there was no table.  She then basically reprimanded us for not being 'up to speed' on Le Clubs policies, and that a reservation does not guarantee a table... Odd to me, but anyway she proceeds to take our party of 8 to a tiny one-sided booth in the billiard room with two tiny stools in front of it.  When we asked if we could get additional stools she said that the bench should seat six, so the 2 stools we had should be adequate.  To be quite honest the bench should not REASONABLY seat more than 3!  I guess if you like to sit on your friends' laps it could seat 6, but not otherwise.  She then went on to say "we simply don't have the storage for more stools!!"  Ok... ALSO, big minus, there was NO music at this place.  The room we were in had an empty iPod dock, but no other sound.  Thank god we had an iPhone in the group. On top of all this the room was STIFLINGLY HOT!!  It was actually quite miserable.  When we asked if it might be possible to open a window, the waitress threatened to kick us out if we tried to open one!  Just the way I like to be treated when I'M paying for service.  To top it all off she COMPLETELY disappeared after our second round and never returned.  I will NOT return to this place, and would NOT recommend it.  By the way, the crowd is somewhat of a freakshow as well... stuffy old suits, and over-botoxed washed up snobs mixed in with a few young hipsters looking for what the ad misleadingly promoted.  I think I've spent enough time on this, but I would suggest the management take a wise look at their staff. PS- The group across from us ordered shrimp cocktails and when they were brought out, the WHOLE ROOM reaked of rotten fish.  I love seafood, dining out or cooking it myself, and shrimp should NEVER smell like that.  I felt like running over and telling them not to eat it.  I'm sure they had food poisoning last night.
