It's like Cremaster 3 mixed with Dante's Commedia and Studio 54. Of course I loved it.

If you want a free cover or even reduced cover charge, get in line early.  Even by 10:30pm, the line was already 3 stores long.  There was two lines (18 and 21 and over).  The bouncers would card the 21's and over and give them the wristband.  If you want to speed things up, have your cash ready on hand. Coat check is mandatory ($4 bucks for 12/24).  Even ladies with light jackets were told to check it so be warned. While the flyer advertised 3 floors of dancing, it was actually just the dance floor on the ground level.  There was a 2nd floor balcony area which was closed off (or limited to VIPs).  A third floor is for private parties but no one would know about that unless they actually were up there.  The dance floor was surrounded by couches with tables (bottle service), with a terraced section (not too large) at the other end of the dance floor (same deal with couches and tables). It definitely filled up on the dance floor, and I think the photos overestimate the size of it.  There is also a small stage in the center for the go-go dancers, probably can fit 3-4 ladies. The dance floor bar is kinda cool with the touch sensitive bar that lights up when you place your hands/arms on it.  It would be nice to see if the bar light can change colors from time to time. Drink prices are expensive, at least $13-15 for mixed drinks, around $8 for beer.  But it should be expected.  If you want to complain about drinks being too expensive, go to a regular bar and save $2-3.  I would say keep the prices up so it can help you self-regulate your alcohol consumption. Music was not too loud, sound system looks to be good.  I would appreciate if the DJ can lengthen the songs instead of mixing them every minute.  It sounds like those Jock Jams mixed melodies.  You start to enjoy one song, then suddenly, the beat and sound change. Male/Female ratio was pretty much skewed to the guys.  What do you expect? One bouncer carried a passed out girl out of the club followed by her girlfriends.  No fights or craziness reported. It was a decent club, not too impressed by it.  I won't mind going back.

The circle of life applies not only to animated lions but to burger joints as well. The new kid on the block, P. Terry's, opened up in the North Lamar location that was home to Hill-Bert's for decades. Hill-Bert's just moved a little down the street. Location's different, but the burgers are the same. There's definitely no pretension here. Decide how many patties you want, whether you want cheese (or chili if you're especially bold), and whether you want a wheat bun or not. The fries are a disappointment, and that's being generous. They've got fish sandwiches and tacos (and wings????), but I think you can do better if that's what you're after. Go here for a burger and nothing else. The photo is above the old location on North Lamar; the new one is just around the block in an old Taco Bell across from Randall's. As you might expect, there is little ambiance, but it's been clean enough when I've gone there. Strangely enough, this place still remains a snapshot of old Austin, even if its new location doesn't quite match up with its past.

This bar sucks. drinks are not strong, when I ordered a double, had to pay double, other bars only charge half the price. Music is not that great, they play the same music as you would hear at wedding receptions minus the chicken dance and the hokey pokey. No I would not return because of the shady service and horrible 80's music.
