I was immediately reminded of LA when I walked in -- with some remnants of Vegas, too. I understand that Cover 3 is trying to bill itself as a "high end" sports bar --- but to me, it felt a bit like they were trying too hard on the sports bar thing and should be ok with being a really great restaurant (which it is). Moving on: - Lots of TVs around, lots of different games, you can see most from most seats - Great service, very helpful, not too much, not too little - Again, interesting ambiance -- very LA feeling, very cool - Great menu - something for everyone, especially for the meat-eaters - One of their burgers was on "Texas Monthly's" Best-Of list.....it was ok, nothing I would post about on Facebook, but decent nonetheless. - the Nachos.....SWEET BABY JESUS....some of the best I've ever had (and, on one of the VH1 specials, the lower third during my interview would say "Nacho Expert"....and I'd talk about these nachos). Get the green chili beef and call it a day (plenty for a few people to share as an app) - The cocktails didn't impress me at all---since we do we use Sprite in a top shelf cocktail? Glad we came. I'd come again.

JB's always has never been a bad choice for any meal. The ever-changing menu always has several things that strike my fancy and I love their brunch. They are great as a live venue too, even though I hate going to shows, all the shows I've been to hear have been enjoyable, solid sound, nice space with the balcony - though as a photog, the lighting errs on the side of nearly non-existent. The coffee is pretty decent (but not in my top three!), and the servers keep the cup full. Always a good few vegetarian options. The prices are always good but I have noticed substantial portion shrinkage on some dishes in the last year. The only experience I had that left me a bit bewildered was once when the waiter was clearing my bf's french toast remains he knocked the cup of maple syrup into my lap, dousing my skirt and rather than get a fresh cloth, he started in on me with a grubby looking wet table rag with chunks of food clinging to it.Too much for me to handle before coffee had fully set it. Other than that I've not had any bad service experiences here. Always a table, never a wait. Just wish they opened a pinch earlier for weekend brunch and made the menu a little easier to read instead of having to get up and walk to it (I'm a bit near-sighted and when I'm seated, I like to stay there instead of lurking behind other diners).

I dressed very nicely for this restaurant. You don't want to be caught with jeans and a t-shirt here. You will feel very out of place. We got a reservation 4 hours before and they were already almost totally booked. When we arrived the place was packed. Then more and more and more people showed up waiting to be seated. I LOVED this place. The waitress was a total fan of the menu and gave us great recommendations. I got the Shrimp Louie Salad and my boyfriend got the Nut crusted fish which was DELICIOUS. We had a jalapeno cocktail which just burned our mouth but we loved it. Great place to impress a date. Great place to people watch and a great place to fall in love with their food and restaurant!
