by Bruna D. on Ruby Skye was the second night club I've tried in SF... and it's an amazing place with a great atmosphere... the line is always hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..OMG..if u wanna have success about getting in..u better go early!!! anyway.. they do play good music,serve good drinks and nice people over there... so I already came back to the place and had another blast..and now looking forward next saturday there again..It must be fun!!!
by kishor k. on This place has some kick ass music if you want to shake that thing. The place is pretty small but the music rocks in terms of music. Great way to end your day if you want to keep shake that thing.... This place would be so much better with a bigger dance floor
by Genevie Helbling on I've been coming to Vanguard on Saturdays ONLY for the past year now. If you're an electronic music fan (house, trance, etc.) then Saturdays are a must for you. I come to Vanguard to dance with my group of friends and to enjoy the music. Let's start off with the good: the dance floor is pretty big compared to many of the other clubs I've danced at (I've been to MOST of them in Hollywood / LA area). The sound system is really awesome and if you get really hot or need a break the outside patio is a great place to cool off. Also GIANT promotes here on Saturday night which is why you get see greats like Tiesto, Cedric, John Digweed, Sander Van Doorn, Infected Mushrooms, and so on.... Now with the bad or also-known-as-how-do-I-improve-this-club? The dance floors need to be mopped with DRY clothes every once in a while. I've pointed out wet spots on the floor to the security guys more than once and they never had it cleaned. Sometimes they over sell the venue when there is a big name DJ and the dance floor gets way too overcrowded to dance. Hate that. Ignore all the middle-aged Asians that are rolling, they are allowed to have fun too. The women there, for the most part, are LAUGHABLE. They all think they're hot and most of them have attidudes. Its a good thing my girlfriend is hotter than most of them and that I go there for the music. Drinks: varies. Generally they are pretty strong, expensive, but strong. The $40 minimum, I "get it". Open your own nightclub and you'll understand why. The security guys here give preferential treatment to their friends which is par for the course. I don't mind them being a little rude, as long as they keep us safe. Overall the club is not bad. But honestly, if GIANT wasn't there with their kick ass DJs, I wouldn't come here. There are better venues out there. Paul
