by Ben E. on This is another one of those places I've been meaning to review for years but just haven't. At any rate, Silk City is hardly a diner in traditional terms. To the contrary, they have a full bar, pretty great gourmet food, and a dance club attached to the old-school-looking diner part. The prices are excellent, the atmosphere is funky and hip but not too hip for its own good, and while the service can be a little rushed during busy times, it's never rude or unhelpful. I'd go back here in a second. It's definitely a must-visit if you're in Philadelphia.
by Julia S. on I went here for one of my roommate's birthday and we had a BLAST!! The waiters and performers are shameless and obviously enjoy what they do. They make it very... relaxing is not the right word, but comfortable for first time visitors. So you shy ladies out there! Don't be afraid to give this place a try! When I looked at the men on the website before going there I thought they guys looked too oiled up and overwhelming but they are so hot and sexy on stage and in real life!!! It is a great place to unwind with your girlfriends for a night. But be aware!! You WILL spend quite a few bucks.... you get caught up in the moment to the point you don't even realize you are tipping away your savings... just be careful how much you bring, because you will be tempted to spend it all!
by Jefferey Bardales on Yesterday was one of those beautiful and sunny afternoons on the very much almost always sunny side of town, Potrero Hill. Better yet, enjoying it outside, amongst other lovelies at Cocomo's outside patio. How can you beat it? Sunshine, yummy drinks, groovin to some funky beats, palm trees, ah...you feel like you're in .... well, San Francisco baby! But there's more. More DJs inside, more dancing, more drinks, and well... off comes my hoody - my favorite hoody done by an artist in Oakland. This hoody had in its right pocket, my wallet, with cash, plastic, ID, and my BiRite Creamery Card with nearly enough punches to get me my free scoop of ice cream! In the left pocket, a pack of gum, my eye drops, a lighter and other miscellaneous. Oh, um, and my cell phone. So I put this FULL LOADED hoody of mine down in an action packed moment, only to later realize, it was no longer there...could it have been stolen? Did I move it unknownst to my own self? Wah happen?? tic toc tic toc...neary 24 hours later, Cocomo's opening their gates for Salsa Monday, and in I pounce to see if MAYBE, it was still lingering around?? Greeted by a friendly owner/manager/the cool cat running the show tonight, goes back to the office to come back out with.... drum roll... MY HOODY!! yup, still fully loaded. Thank you people at Cocomo - still honest peeples out there. I always have a good time here, and its good to know I can loose things and get them back here too!!
