by Malcom Paonessa on I came here with a friend to see a show. Apparently Tuesday nights are like boogie nights, but I came on a Wednesday. The 3 bands that we saw were all pretty good, and the crowd was very chill and relaxed which was exactly what I wanted/needed during a crazy-ass week. There is one bar to the left and one bar to the right as you enter, and you will never have to wait forever for a drink. Oh, and the drinks are cheap and good! The guy who owns the Star Bar is a really sweet guy, and this is a neighborhood bar with lots of regulars. This is the perfect place to go if you just want to chill, have a few drinks, see a few great bands, and have a great time with different people!
by Flip C. on I'm going to give this place 4 stars because we don't have any clubs like this in the ATL where I'm from. You guys in San Francisco would be missing it if you didn't have it. I went on Memorial Day because they were having a 24-hour T-dance. I went in the afternoon and hung out with all the tweakers who had been there all the night before. There was this peculiar Asian fag-hag with bleach blonde hair who kept trying to subjugate another gay Asian guy. She would try to sit on him or put her legs over him. When he would resist, she would grab his hair and give it a firm yank or pummel him with her fists. It would get so bad that he would have to flee the dance floor before he got his ass kicked. It was also funny watching the rave kids trying to out-rave each other on the dance floor (who got the highest kicks in their running man?). And oh yeah, they had good music.
