I am a big fan of this place, though I have only been there twice. I like how you can crunchify (put chips on) any burger you want. I love the set up on the inside and out. The staff is really friendly and quiet humorous. I love the college atmosphere. It is only not getting a 5/5 for cleanliness.

I'm so torn on what to give Estate. I came here for the second time on Saturday night for LMFAO's performance - my first time at Estate involved a miscommunication of whether or not it was gay night and resulted in me leaving after 10 minutes. My night started out on the negative side. We were told we were getting free VIP entry, but had to wait in line for at least 30 minutes - this is not fun when you are wearing uncomfortable heels. While outside, I watched one of the bouncers get screamed at terribly but was happy to see him keep his composure. Once we were inside I realized I actually really liked the setup of the club. The dance floor was larger than I remembered with a few bars scattered around. The upstairs was really nice with lots of places to sit and pretty friendly bartenders. I had a fun time dancing/pretending I could afford expensive drinks ($10 per shot for cheap tequila?!?!) until LMFAO came on to perform. My friends and I were minding our own business near the stage but apparently were in the way of some very aggressive girls. I felt like suddenly I was in a strange mosh pit where all the girls were wearing big hoops and black dresses. I was getting pushed in multiple directions as girls tried to make their way up to the front to get a glimpse (or a grab) of LMFAO. Any attempt at communication with these rowdy girls resulted in getting pushed even harder. It wasn't long until I gave up and left the dance floor. The funny thing was, LMFAO was barely performing anyway. Mostly they were just dancing on stage without their shirts [and sometimes pants] and yelling the occasional "YEA PARTY PEOPLE" into the microphone. We ended up calling it an early night and left the club at about 1:15, missing the rest of the performance. So even though my night itself deserves 1 or 2 stars, I'm giving Estate the benefit of the doubt and giving it 3. I wouldn't want to judge a club based on one crappy night. So until next time!

After moving to Austin last year, I vowed to avoid big chains like this one when so many great and unique places are around. But when we received a gift card to Chilis/Maggiano's/etc, our effort to avoid chains was derailed. Oh well... we thought we'd use the GC at Maggiano's rather than the grease pit that is Chili's. We went here for lunch and had an incredibly good experience. The time between ordering and receiving our food was a bit slow, but our server was very attentive. We didn't run out of beverages or bread while we waited and when our food arrived, it was delicious. My chicken saltimboca was one of the best I've had and my guest's linguine de mare was just perfect. We decided to stay a little longer to enjoy dessert, which was toasted pound cake with ice cream and bananas. Wow... very good and so different from what you usually see on Italian restaurant menus. I would definitely go back here next time I'm craving good Italian and don't feel like driving downtown or south of downtown.
