by Romana Moura on We went to Shout for a wedding on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. The upstairs space actually lent itself quite nicely to an urban wedding. First of all, we had cocktail hour before the wedding. What a great idea! Particularly for a large sorority-fraternity reunion type wedding. The patio was simply decorated with some flowers and a stage for the bridal party. Peachtree Street was a nice backdrop, until the sound equipment stopped working and made it hard to hear to unique vows over the roar of the traffic below. It was also entertaining when you heard a woman's voice yelling "don't do it!" and you weren't sure if she thought they were jumping or getting married...either way, it made for a more memorable ceremony. They set up a buffet of tapas and sushi at the back of the upstairs hall. So after "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen brought the happy couple onto the dance floor, the buffet line started forming. The sushi was decent, particularly considering it was buffet style - well-presented and not too hot (as could happen in the August heat in Atlanta in an open-air venue. The pizza was pretty good, though somewhat greasy. The spanish potatoes were spicy and crisp - impressive that they didn't get soggy as they sat. The best part was having the bride throw her bouquet off the second story to all the single girls waiting on the street below. It was far more memorable than the food.
by Jonathan C. on I came here for a Supernova Pre-mixer party and the place is not bad. The experience is much different from the day where you have cybergeeks on their laptops sipping on their latte. By night, it turns into a bar/lounge. The drinks are made very well. The people were very classy, at least for the mixer. I'm not sure about the nightlife though. The place is definitely mellow and chill. I'm surprised why I don't know about this place before.
by While S. on If you read these reviews and want to go on Tuesday night, you should probably just stay at home and watch TV because I'll be there and I'll be sweaty.
