Okay...Im sorry Roe... I don't like you very much. Your kind of deceptive, money driven and shallow. You offer happy hour, and free sushi to lure people in that would normally avoid this place like the plauge. Then you serve three peices of sushi on a plate being walked around the club every twenty minutes or so. FYI:This makes people mad, and causes herds to form next to the kitchen doors (where the sushi comes from) in an attempt to get some of this delicious looking food. You need to either not advertise the free sushi anymore or figure out a way to serve the sushi more effectively. Say buffett style? I managed to obtain a plate (wow a whole three pieces) from a waitress who was nice enough to see that me and my friend were interested in sampling the "free sushi" offered.  Thats it though three whole peices... thats all we got, so dont come in looking for the sushi. Unless you plan on paying, ordering, and waiting for it. Now on to the bar... so once you've had your free sushi...piece, you may want a drink. This place as idiot bartenders. I dont know where they found these people but they are not skilled in the art of serving a crowd. I was there for happy hour, and it took an average of at least ten minutes to get a drink each time. Not because it was overly pack but because the bartenders dont seem to know what making eye contact or timely bar service is. They look at you and start cleaning dishes...or trying hard to make two drinks at once. Really trying hard. WOW. So yeah... you get your drink they are CRAZY OVERPRICED for a happy hour...6bucks.. you tell me and thats half price for happy hour? So normally your drinks are 12bucks a pop? for what? you served me a weak....weak drink and it took forever. It wasnt just me either all up and down the bar people were compaining about your slow service and over priced not so happy hour prices. The music sucked and I mean was horrible, cover your ears and run for the nearest closet aweful. The place turns into some sort of thug hang out after about 8 which is probably why they are always trying to advertise specials and have seemingly out of place events during the happy hour times at thier place to attract a new crowd. They start playing hip hop on the other levels and the thuggy "yoyo whats up mami" types flock. Followed by the rough looking Ladies out at the club, looking to hook up with the "Yoyo mami" types. Kinda scary if your not into that scene. The decor of the place is nice enough...I mean its pretty typical simple, large mirrors the usual SF bar look. Boho modern. Nothing new there. Its across from the gold club and the firestation, so if your bored you can go waste money on strippers or gawk at the hot man meat in the firestation...two stars for the man meat across the street.

Wow, this place has close to 950 review on rateclub... and I just discovered it?  I should go hang my head in shame in a corner or something!  Possibly with a dunce cap, but I think that would just fall off from hanging my head in shame....  Nevermind. Anyways, I came here for a little birthday shindig last night and it was so, soooo crowded on every floor.  We started out the evening on the rooftop during the sunset, which was mad gorgeous.  We ordered ourselves a few drinks.  They had Stella and Pabst on tap and their fruity mojitos are spectacular!  I got a pomegranate one, and they have a lychee one in season, too.  Mmmm... Pomegranate :) After we ordered our drinks, it became apparent that it was too hot and crowded to stay on the roof, so we ventured back to ground level, which was just as hot and crowded, but luckily, we managed to grab a seat on the couches, which made it more bearable, where many more drinks were ordered, plus some grub.  Their pomme frites were interesting.  They were almost like chips because they were so thinly sliced, yet they weren't yet a chip nor a fry in my opinion!  They were topped with preserved lemon and parsley and we were given a tarter sauce to dip 'em in.  Their salmon and gnocchi in cream sauce was amazing!  You get a fat slice of grilled salmon on top of a bed of gnocchi.  Their gnocchi was so soft and airy.  Orgasmic!  And it was tossed in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and peas.  As Rachael Ray would say, Yum-O. Our waitress, for as busy as it was, did a great job.  She was very attentive, always had a smile on her face, and came to check on us often.  I was really surprised because usually at places as busy as this, or even less busy than Medjool, it's really hard to get some service.  The food and drinks came out surprisingly fast as well. This place is pricey (around $150 for 8 people, not including tip and with only two dishes ordered), but I love the decor and the food.  Plus, that view on the rooftop is just amazing!  Had they not been so crowded, this definitely would be a 5-star restaurant in my book. I'll be back.  Just not on a Friday night.

*rateclub Elite party @ Supperclub* Can you say HUNGOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I woke to start my workday at 7AM, after getting home at 4AM, that is about all I could say. Not such a good time the next day. What caused this hangover? Was it the pre-Supperclub beers? Not a chance. Was it the not so strong mixed drinks in the front bar? Probably not. Could it have been the fact that I knew the bartender in the club bar - thus making my drinks unusually potent? Maybe.....or maybe it was the shots of Fernet I did with Carla D and Jeremy W. Perhaps it was the afterparty vodka tonic, or the vodka cranberry that I had one sip of at the party after the afterparty...I dont know, but I do know it is 5PM and I am still not functioning correctly. So, anyhow, the bulk of the drinking happened at this place; You know I am there when I hear the words free alcohol! That is just what we got when rateclub held their event here. The only problem was that the bartenders were more concerned with how pretty they looked than getting us our drinks quickly. I did the essential "tip well on the first drinks so you get good service for the duration of the evening" , to no avail. I was starting to see how B. Kaye W. feels, and I feel her pain. It sucks to be ignored by the man providing th alcohol, especially if its free. I get the feeling that the wait would have been just as long even if we were paying customers, here on a normal night. The bartenders DID have to flex the biceps in the mirror between drinks, you know. The decor in the bar and the supper/club area were cool. A very "New York, last year" feel to them, which makes the establishment truely tragically hip to most of the US. They do need to time the dinner portion better, or dare I say, be on schedule at all. It is no fun that the front bar becomes a sardine can of impatient drunks waiting to get to the dance floor beyond. Dont deprive the lushes the pleasure of shakin thier money makers! All in all an okay place, but nowhere I would go out of my way to revisit. I didnt try the food but heard from many it was average, and that the entertainment provided during the 5 course meal was cool. I would come try this place for dinner. I had fun and the beds are comfy after some dancing and drinking. I would probably not hang out in the bar again, waiting for dinner to end.
