Great birthday dinner at Parish. Had a group of 12 that was seated in the Market around the large table. I actually enjoyed the location because my friends and I could hear each other and didn't have to resort to screaming across the table. We were seated immediately upon arrival, greeted by our server, service was efficient and friendly. The only slow point was waiting for our drinks from the bar...but oh well. I had the Andouille Crusted N.O. Catfish, and I thought it was perfectly portioned and quite good. Pre-meal bread was given in individual brown bags, which was a nice touch. I thought the restaurant embraced a laid-back vibe, but was still chic at the same time. Compliments all around the table regarding the food. The server was good about getting us all plates and silverware for the cake also. I'd definitely return, but I fear how noisy the upstairs may be around prime dining time.

Favorite piano bar. Sure its a Gay bar! Sure its a piano Bar! and damn, what fun. I even made a friend of one of the piano players who I now do business with in his "real" life. The guest singers that come from here and there to sing are sometimes famous, and there are some seniors that sneak in with song books to hammer out some old tunes. You can't beat that! We have been going to this place for years, and take friends all the time. We have more great stories from this one bar than most can make up in a life time. And no, while I was born and raised in SF I am not gay. My wife and I love to come and hang out and have some of the best Martini's in the city. HUGE is not an over statement. And I will point out, not once did I have someone hit on me. Fun fun fun! Have fun! Go early just to check it out and sit at the piano bar. Then go late for the scene. Downside. Parking

I'm torn on my review of Supperclub because I always have a good time when I go but I think it's just because I go with a big group of friends and I end up getting completely wasted. This isn't the kind of place I would frequent--unless I suddenly became single and started taking up a COCAINE HABIT. I've heard complaints about the service but have never personally experienced this myself. Everyone at Supperclub has always been very personable. Yes, they dress up in weird crazy outfits but I kinda like it. Maybe I'm kinda weird and crazy too. Like Eric B. said--it's like BURNING MAN meets money here. I don't think it's really the place you go for dinner and a show--more a place you go because it's weird and a little sexy. When I come to Supperclub, I break out the heels and FISHNETS. $10 a drink. Ouch. Now you know why I don't come here often. Whatever, this isn't a dive bar. I suck down Black Cherry Drops all night because they're amazing. $80 for a 5 course dinner, not including drinks, tax, and tip. We paid $40 for the rateclub Elite party but after all the drinks, I think it still ended up being $100+ per person. OUCH. They ask you if you have any dietary restrictions and if you don't, then you get whatever the set menu is for the night. I thought the food was ok. The kobe beef was great but the soup freaked me out. It tasted like foam. I hate this foam trend in food. Dinner was long and drawn out. I was bored by the 3rd course. I wanted to go and dance. Plus I don't like this whole eating in bed thing. I was constantly shifting to get comfortable. Drinking in bed was ok. Eating in bed sucked. Dinner here was never a huge draw for me though--I think whenever you try and mix a club with fancy food, it ends in both being mediocre. I knew dinner was going to go until midnight from my previous times of being there and being out in the bar area. Dinner always goes until midnight. There was no way they were going to finish serving us by 9:30pm. Anyhow come here before 10pm to skip the cover charge. Have a few drinks in the back room and pass on the dinner. The point of Supperclub is to look beautiful, spend a lot of money on drinks, and get trashed and dance your ass off so if that's what you're looking for, this is a good place to go. Oh and if the bar in front is too crowded, there's a giant bar in the main room that no one ever seems to go to.
