Let me start off by saying that I do like Trigger, but I have mixed emotions about Trigger. It's branded as the Abbey Of the Castro, but it just doesn't really fit that mold. The space is big and much improved from Jet. I also love the fact they are the only bar in the Castro that takes credit card, massive kudos for that! I am not sure what the cover situation is like now, but covers in the Castro are frowned upon. Trigger is worth checking out, and you will have a good time there. However, it's not of the regular spots for my friends and me. ~A

Very beautiful place, I cannot believe I grew up in LA not knowing this place existed. This is like going into another world back in time when people cared about the good ol' times (literally). It has the old industry mill feel with high ceiling, brick walls, old fashion light bulbs, factory machines and 1920s style atmosphere. The con might be that there's not enough bar room so when it gets crowded, it's hard to get a drink. Also seating is limited and some are even reserved so you're pretty much standing up the whole time which can be difficult for the ladies with heels. I think it was the DJ that night but they were playing really odd music. I definitely recommend going at least once. It is nice to know that there's still some history left in LA.

MJQ is the antithesis to the so called "young Hollywood" club scene in Atlanta, which is exactly why I loved it! I had been hearing about MJQ for a while and I was more than ready to check it out. My friends and I fell through on a Fri night. $5 to park, $5 to get in, we were already starting on a good note. We were there a little before 12, so people were still arriving. We took advantage of the sparse crowd and grabbed drinks and a seat along the wall. By the time we finished with round the crowd was starting to get thick, so we headed to the dance floor. The music was amazing all night. Old school rap, funk, r&b, house, reggae/ dancehall, we never stopped dancing! I ended up sweating out my hair by the end of the night. The crowd was an eclectic mix like everyone said. Everybody was just there to dance and have a good time. As long as your not claustrophobic or hate smoke, you will definitely have a good time here.
