by Colin H. on I love this building. Visited it a couple times in the early nineties when it was Revival, but this was my first trip back. Thankfully I skipped its incarnation as Cayote Ugly. We sat right by the open window in the front. Great people watching spot. On the window sill next to us was a cool collection of carnivorous plants. I asked for my burger rare... And they did not disappont. Perfectly rare burger. Great thick steak fries. Carolyn had the buffalo shrimp. Great server (Anny?) and an attentive and friendly staff. Not sure the $10 pitcher of lager was worth the price (since pints were $2.50 and I think we only got about three and a half pints out of the pitcher) but everything else was well worth the price.
by Emerson Scorsone on Came here the other night somehow with a couple friends. The last time I had been here was for an early Halloween party a year ago. The parking was easy then, but this time we waited in an alley for about 10 minutes only to be told we could self park. Why the hell would it take so long to be told that when we were looking to our left and saw all these empty sparking spots. Was an old person doing the valet? Anyways, it was me and two guys and their 2 girls. The two girls and I were the only white girls in the club, surrounded by Asians. It was like the Asians were vultures upon us whenever we were left alone. I went out to the patio to have a smoke, by myself, and 1 minute later they started circling. No advances towards me were presented, except for one asking me for a light and exclaiming it was his birthday. When I entered the club I asked one of the people working the door, if anything special was happening, "A DJ from Japan was flown in for tonight", umm ok. I know it had to be a Japanese targeted night from all the funky outfits and crazy hats I had the pleasure of meeting. The DJ was alright, but he was spinning all the shit people have already been playing. But the Japanese loved it! Drinks were a bit pricey but whatevs. Very cool decor, with a cool bar back drop and jelly fish!
by Elizabeth P. on This place has a pretty good vibe: I thought the layout and size of the rooms created a nice environment for meeting new people. There's a main room, with a round bar in the center, that leads into the dining room on one side that is lined with beds (yes beds), and another side room, that is one big bed. The "big bed" room was one of the stinkiest places I'd been in for awhile and is responsible for a deduction of half to one star. It smelled like a combination of stale pot and BO -- maybe what you would expect in a room with one big bed? But I sure couldn't wait to get out of there. The other rooms were pleasant. The dining room is all white and modern but still doesn't feel cold, and the beds felt more comfy than cheesy. It was great for dancing. The service people were pretty focused - not rude but not friendly either. Oh, and open bar does not include champagne - who would've thought? And they will find you if you try and "steal" two glasses, as Tania C. and I unfortunately discovered. We were tracked down by a determined bartender who wanted his $20, while sipping bubbly in "bed."
