by Samuel Reale on Whenever friends and I are looking for a more or less decent place to go dance salsa/Spanish-style music and have a good time, Bongo's always comes up. I have never had the pleasure of having dinner here, so I can only review it as a nightclub, but regardless I think the place is pretty nice. Most recently, I visited on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. When visiting you should always check to see what kind of events are going on in the area. For example, this past Saturday night was the Rihanna concert at the American Airlines arena which caused a great deal of traffic and complications getting into and out of the area. Parking at the arena that night was $10 (not bad) and ladies got in free (guys were $20). The actual venue is very nice; nice stage area, dancing area, and a large outside area as well. With that said, it gets pretty full. Drinks are priced about the same as most clubs. The music is generally very good (hip hop/trance inside and latin/salsa outside) and on certain nights you may even run into the famous owners (Gloria and Emilio Estefan). I recently found out, they are even serving food outside (pork and rice). The only thing that kind of irks me about this place is that it's Cuban and yet the majority of the visitors are anything but Cuban. Nonetheless, good times, good music...
by Lucio Mcburnett on Awesome space and no cover when I went. The upstairs has a great view of this Zen garden, as well as a hot tub. Though I seriously question the sanity of anyone willing to get into a random hot tub at some club, I appreciate the effort on behalf of the establishment. Drinks were moderately priced.
