by Dennis L. on I went here for a friend's birthday and my first impression actually started with the line, guest list only really?! But the line guy was cool enough to let us in line without a long wait. Inside was nice, good atmosphere and drinks. The place wasn't even overly crowded as the line gives that impression, but that was a good thing. The dj's were pretty good and I had fun. My only gripe is the cover, $20!
by Nola Kiffer on Came by as my boyfriend wanted to be a touristo around the block at David Letterman one day (don't get me started on that awful experience)...after getting our tickets and being overwhelmed by the cheesiness and mass tourists, i told him i was going to have to be MUCH drunker for that experience than I had anticipated... We had less time between picking up the tickets and coming back fro the show, so my boyfriend had seen this place and wanted to give it a go. The mojitos are amazing, and an incredibly extensive list of flavors. I asked prior to ordering to ensure it wasnt one of those places that just throws in some 'syrup' or 'mango rum,' no they use purees...the coconut mojito was my favorite, but mango was also good...sadly they were essentially virgin, and they don't have specials or happy hour (nor do they need to in this location, tourist central, although the place WAS empty when we came). My boyfriend also got a chicken sandwich, which he liked, and we took home some of their "super spicy homemade salsa" per my boyfriends insistence it was beyond hot (i tried it later, and beg to differ). Would maybe come back if I were for some misfortune back in the area, but most certainly left as sober as i came in (which led to an even more unpleasant letterman experience than i had bargained for), but tasty drinks and apparently food as well!
by Cortney Mathenia on This place reminds me of those trendy lounge spots in L.A. Halo is a very cool place to come and chill, dance, socialize, and have drinks. The crowd is mixed (meaning black, white, Asian) and diverse. Ladies usually come to Halo dressy or semi-casual and the men usually wear anything that's clean (as always). The DJ is really good. He played music from every genre seems like. Halo is definitely a place where you HAVE to visit.
