I used to like this place when it was on South Congress. It was a fun place to bring visitors to Austin. Something's missing at the new location. It's like they left all the charm (and good recipes) from the old place at the old location. I ordered the flautas de pollo and they were taquitos at best. Three tiny and nearly incinerated taquitos. The rice was dried out as well. The refried beans, however, were quite tasty. Serrano's now has better food than El Sol Y La Luna. Very sad.

National Mechanics is the culmination of everything that is good in the world, okay or at least maybe in this city. Beer selection is updated constantly. I've never had a miss when it has come to ordering food. I'd highly suggest picking something off of the specials instead of the regular menu. This is the bar to go to if you want a solid pub-style meal alongside a good beer. It's also a great place to go to for brunch (provided you're not a vegetarian or vegan - as the options are limited). Just as a note: events and on-goings change on a daily. It's never the same scene on any given night. Which, in my opinion keeps things awesome and exciting. Veggie Burger is a win with Sriracha sauce, just FYI.

I wouldn't call the Ear Inn a dive bar but for some reason it feels like one. I find that to be a good thing. The clientele here kick ass (maybe litter ally most of them are bikers in the summer) and I am really impressed with the burgers. The place had a gritty feel but is actually quite clean and great place to have a rocking one-on-one with an old pal.
