I have never had a better dining experience. My parents came in from out of town to spend the weekend celebrating my birthday/finishing my med school boards and mother's/father's day. With that said, this dining experience was very expensive, but for a special occasion. I would only recommend going here for a special occasion and to really soak up the whole experience. I made reservations 2 months in advance as we had show tickets the same day, so I wanted to make sure we had our choice of dinner times. I chose 6:15 for dinner, but the afternoon show got out sooner than I expected and we arrived at 5:30 for dinner. They were more than happy to accommodate us and seated us immediately on a busy Saturday. Our waitress was phenomenal: attentive, knowledgeable, and polite. We opted for the $80 omakasa tasting menu as well as the $45 dollar wine pairing (might as well go all out since you probably wont be back anytime soon). Before the tasting started, we ordered 1/2 dozen of each type of raw oyster on the menu (2 types...an east coast and west coast oyster) and split them prior to the tasting. The oysters were fabulous...fresh, clean, sweet, and topped with three unique sauces...a cilantro ceviche, an Asian dressing and a jalapeno pepper. I loved the cilantro ceviche oysters and highly recommend them. After the oysters our tasting started with tuna tartar accompanied by prosecco. The second course was a Japanese butter fished seared with hot sesame oil (this was my favorite of the dishes) and served with a white wine. The third course was chunks of fatty tuna with a micro-green salad served with another white wine followed by a palate cleanser of cucumber lemon soda. The two dishes that followed included a Chilean sea bass with black bean and garlic sauce (heavenly) and sliced duck breast. The duck had a great Oregon Pinot Noir to go along with it. There was a sushi platter that came out followed by a goat cheese cheesecake to end the tasting. The dessert wine was absolutely fabulous; so much so that my dad splurged and got us a second round. I thought the omakasa wine pairing was definitely worth the money considering we each had over 20 oz of booze that was paired perfectly with our dishes. As for the omakasa dinner...I was more than satisfied with the flavors of the dishes, pace the dishes came out, and size of each dish. To end this fabulous experience, my parents each got autographed menus from Morimoto after the waitress found out they were big fans of Iron Chef. Overall I can not say enough about this restaurant. I would definitely go back if my parents would be willing to take me back....maybe med school graduation.

For a place that has been reported as the new "hollywood-it-club," there is a lot left to be desired.  I went on a Saturday night with 9PM dinner reservations.  I'm just gonna go down the list of things I did and didn't like...most of them things I didn't like. Cons: Our table wasn't ready, we still had to wait 10 minutes. ok, not a big deal. They crammed 6 of us into a booth for 4. The waitress said the menu was meant to be "shared." We spent $300 and I was starving after. The food was not good. The food took forever. The service was horrible. The basement club was so f-ing hot. The music sucked, the dj was awful. The bouncers were dicks. The place is just confusing...three clubs, all separate lines, and even the bouncers don't seem to be able to tell you where you should be. We were on the list for the rooftop, and they told us we had to leave the club and get back in line, and we wouldn't get in anyways. Expensive drinks, but hey, thats hollywood, right? They were out of 2 of maybe 4 or 5 desserts. Pros: It was easy to get into the basement club. Eat dinner there and your waiter/waitress escorts you in basically. Fairly easy to get a drink at the bar. No girls bathroom line, at least when I went. I'm sure I left out a few more complaints.  Needless to say, I will NOT be going back.  They need to get their crap together.

Ecco's the perfect place to eat at the bar. Start off with a bottle of great wine. The bartenders are always eager to suggest a good variety. A couple of goat cheese balls, a sampling of the bruschetta of the day and a little meat and cheese selection and there's just about room to split an entre. This restaurant has more style than One, Two and Three combined (if you know what I mean) and I've never walked out slightly disappointed.
