by Georgie S. on I had dinner here with my cousin on Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation but there was room for us at the bar. We sat down and were immediately greeted by both the bartender and the manager who happened to be standing by where we were sitting. We ordered a few drinks, I had a glass of the cava and my cousin got a lemon cocktail. It was delicious! Kind of like a lemon mojito. We started with the hummus which was great. The bread that was served with it was still piping hot when it came out, which is a huge plus! They then brought us a tower of little side dishes. It had everything from homemade pickles and beets to carrots and roasted eggplant. After the hummus we ordered a few other dishes. My favorite was the sable. It was served on top of a piece of challah toast with a fried egg in the middle. Hands down one of the best things I've ever tasted! Everything was delicious and would most certainly go back again.
by Jen y. on Kress is just "okay" for me. I've been here several times and each time, my experience was different, but never have I left there thinking this is the best club ever or anything close to that. The last time I was there. My friends and I went in through the back, our usual entrance to the rooftop lounge. We were meeting up with our other group of friends who were already inside, but they were in the middle floor and came in through the front entrance. We decided to meet them where they were since they weren't able to gain access to the rooftop. So... as we proceeded to go down the stairs we were stopped by one of the security guys who told us we couldn't go in if we were from the rooftop. He was very friendly and explained to us that since their are different promoters for each floor that we would have to go through the front entrance for the 2nd floor. bla bla bla! UGHHH what a pain in my butt. So off we went back up to the rooftop and took the elevator down and walked around the back alllll thhhhe waaaaayyyy to the front while amidst of it all, getting sexually harassed by strange men's cat calls. When we got to the front we miraculously got in almost immediately, thank God. We eventually were able to meet with the rest of my friends, but OMG what a hassle and a workout. If I knew I was going to be doing that much cardio I would've put on some sneakers with my dress! From my experience I can tell you that the rooftop draws a good looking crowd. The second and third floor..... ummm not so much. Review on the food: I ate here when they had their soft opening. The servers and managers were really nice and attentive. The food was pretty good too with mediocre size portions. Since I haven't been back for round 2 for dinner at this place I can't accurately say how good the service/food is now. They are always more detailed and attentive in the beginning. You know how that is.
by Tiffiny Buttermore on i live in san francisco but i go to atlanta for work frequently and a co-worker took me here. it's a gorgeous restaurant with a very elegant feel to it. the food is divine and they have some pretty creative cocktails and the service is really goos as well. the only catch with ecco is that it's on the pricy side.
