by Rena H. on We went to Eve friday night after a yumtastic dinner at Red Crawfish and I'm gonna have to say that I am a fan. We got there at 930 and it was pretty dead, but around 11 it was pretty busy. Drinks were reasonably priced $39 for 2 makers and ginger, 1 stoli blueberri w/ soda and lime and a specialty drink. The decor was swanky and girly with out being TOO girly and the music was bumpin'. Lots of funk, old school and some 80's, 90's and current hip hop club faves. We seriously couldnt keep our feet still! Very mixed group, as well...
by diane c. on I wish I was cool enough to be a jazz expert... this was my first true jazz club experience and I really enjoyed it. I went on a Monday night to see Michelle Carr and band. The band was great - Michelle Carr's voice just didn't do much for me. That point aside, I found the Blue Note to be great acoustically and their drinks were pretty strong. The price was OK(we paid $20 for pre-reserved table seats with a $5 drink/food minimum)... my main gripe is, I arrived at 7:15 for a 8PM show and when the waitress escorted me to our table, she wanted to put as at the table furthest to the back of the club. I was kind of offended by this (the floor was pretty much empty at that point) and asked to move closer to the stage, which was not a problem. But still - that initial move to put us in the peanut gallery on an empty night got under my skin... it takes so little to ruin a first impression.
by Emile Merette on I came here b/c Park next door had a crazy line. The bouncer was really nice. Overall the service/promoters were cool. The decor was nice, music was good. There was a bellydancer that was fun to watch. :) Didn't go to the upstairs balcony but it seems like a good place to have a private party. The only thing I would change is that there is only one bar in the back, also where the bathroom is -so the whole back of the space gets really packed. It's mostly an Asian crowd. I wasn't feeling it, I like a mixed crowd. But it's a fun spot. :)
