I went here with some friends after a night out ice skating. The service was fast for midnight on a friday night. They had seating available, which the first time I tried to have a drink here they didn't have any. The staff was knowledgeable about the beer that they had on tap and was pretty attentive. We ordered the fries and they were gobbled up fast, because they were delicious.

This review is for the lunch cafe section that just opened last week. We almost walked right passed this place as it used to be open just for dinner and nightclub. The cafe section is on the right hand side once you enter the front door and not the white cushioning seating area. It is a bar area decorated with Indian wooden stools and small white table-clothed tables. Since it's right by the windows there's a lot of sun coming through, definitely a nice touch. I really like the simple white and to-the-point ambience. You order and pay and then they serve. The lady who took our orders was very nice and chatty about the new cafe section and the plan to open up the inside restaurant for lunch. We had the curried coconut chicken empandas with yam fritters as well as the ginger garlic prawns with green tea soba noodles. The food was pretty tasty and the portion was good as it would not give you food coma! They also serve my favourite Mighty Leaf tea in the ecotainer cup!

The club has an upscale feel to it, which is a complete contrast to the surrounding terrotory the tenderloin. There's three DJ stages (I just recently found the 3rd one). Hip hop downstairs, house upstairs, and eclectic music (from reaggaeton to mariah carey to salsa) in the hidden room. There's a huge outside area to chill or smoke a quick cigarrette. And the best part is that if you subscribe to their mailing list, you'll get in for free on friday--and there's always decent free drinks to go along with it. So given all that, Suite 181 is okay occasionaly. There's a Rateclub tendancy to give trendy large clubs like 181 or Ruby Skye a bad rating just because the people aren't cool like us... And they aren't. But that's not the only factor in judging a venue's worth. Go with your good friends, get some free drinks, and then get mugged afterwards. Four stars.
