I've only attended the Sunday drag show, and it was definitely a delight. Tickets were easy to reserve, even at last minute. We took Bart since driving through the city can be such a hassle, and it was only a few blocks from the Powell station. The service was prompt, and drinks were reasonably priced (I recommend ordering a Bellini). The food was served brunch style, and the presentation was pleasing. The array of breakfast items were tasty, but most importantly, so were the desserts. The one hour drag show was so much fun. Each performer had a wonderful style of their own, and "Whole Lotta Times" was worth every dollar. The hostess "Donna Sachet" was entertaining, especially the star of the show "Cassandra Cass". If you bring guests, keep in mind Cass's performance could be considered a tad risque. If you are looking for a unique Sunday outing, this is the place!

i am not sure how this place is on a 'normal' night but i enjoyed it for the tuesday dance party that i have learned comes along every other week or so. if that's the case, i am definitely going to be back. it got a little crowded and while it may have prevented me from busting a move from time to time, it added to the overall hot, sweaty atmosphere that is a dance party. the crowd made it hard to get to the bar (which is essential in my book!) but they compensated for that by having large beers which called for less trips to the bar...GOOD THINKING! i loved the atmosphere of the lounge, regardless of the dance party that ensued. the high ceilings and windows block out the foot traffic but allow a view of the rooftops of cambridge...pretty cool idea. i like. so, middlesex...thank you for helping me get my groove back...well, at least every other tuesday @ heart throb. :)

A friend and I were recently discussing the elements that make San Francisco San Francisco. The Endup is very high on my list. On a good night (which can be any night of the week), it combines thumping techno, people from the whole gender spectrum, and San Franciscans' ability to be creative, unique and fashionable without a shred of pretension. I've walked in here in jeans & a tee-shirt, unwashed hair in a scrappy ponytail, not a lick of makeup, and no one at the door or on the dance floor blinked an eye. How many late-night clubs in New York or any other city can you say that about? One other thing: I used to bemoan the steep cover charge until I realized that not once had I ever purchased a drink there. I guess they figure that most people walking in the door at 2:30 A.M. have already finished drinking elsewhere. But hey, I'd rather blow $15 on a dancefloor with raging DJ's, live drummers and amazing dancers than on a couple of crappy martinis.
