FLIP Burger Boutique is one of those hot spots that made me wonder if it could live up to its buzz and hype while delivering great food. And you know what? It does, amen and thank you! The place was jammed with people at 1:30pm on the weekend and I can't think of a much cooler space to hang out in. Decked out in white and mod furniture, the place has some cool touches such as flat panels behind white picture frames and architectural details hanging off the ceiling, living up to its FLIP namesake. We grabbed a nice Belgian white ale while we cooled our heels and it didn't take long, only 15 minutes. The menu is simple but delicious sounding all around. I went with the standard FLIP burger and shared an rBQ with my friend along with three sides. Everything came out beautifully. The standard burger was fantastic, you can taste the short rib and brisket ground into the patty and it's just the right size. The rBQ was well spiced and tasty. And as much as I loved the burgers, the sides were even better! The onion rings were fantastic, cooked in a tempura-like batter (nom nom nom) and the pickles were sweet, sour, tangy and crunchy, yum-m-my! All in all, a wonderfully satisfying meal for what should be a basic burger. Service was efficient and hip, yes they do have some beautiful people here but what do you expect for a place like this? And while it may not have been Southern-friendly it was as good as I've found in any major city. Prices and portions are totally reasonable and the quality of ingredients shine through. More importantly, you can tell a lot of care and thought went into the entire place from interior decor to menu choices and presentation. And to all the one-star reviewers for Flip Burger I gotta call all y'all out: Are you kidding me?! Did your momma not hug you enough as a child? Do you hate cute puppy dogs and fuzzy kittens? What do you expect if a place serves great food at reasonable prices, it's gonna be busy! If you don't appreciate Flip Burger, please go back to your drive-thru Happy Meal, play with your toy and let the rest of us adults enjoy delicious food in a great environment... (steps off soapbox) I for one loved the place and can't wait to see if it expands further north. How about Raleigh, FLIP Burger? Pretty please?!

The decor is impressive... no one can take that away from them. The drinks were really good too. But wow, it was PACKED. A little too much. Would have been smart to make reservations (way ahead of time).
