by Elliott Jackel on Love the atmosphere, the venue is pretty cool, is a 50's theme lounge. The drinks can be pricy. The 50's theme burlesque show is always fun. We got in around 9:30pm and didn't have a problem, but when my friends tried to come in after 10:30pm it was a hard-core mission to get in!! - HUGE line, door guys are really strickt, they didn't take bribes. Over all good place to go, even for the experience.
by Spencer Gorr on I was fortunate enough to try this place out before their grand opening, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2010. The venue is very nicely decorated and the bar is FULLY stocked. I didn't count (obviously), but they boast that they have over 100 beers and 70 wines, along with your usual hard liquors. Now onto the food. There were 4 of us and we started with their meatballs, which were big and juicy (get your mind out of the gutter). I had the bone-in rib eye, which was slightly overcooked, but still very much an acceptable medium rare. My friends had the sliders and the kobe hamburger, both of which were really good. The fries were excellent. We topped off the night with a complimentary cheesecake, which might have been in the top 3 of cheesecakes I've had. The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is that with the official opening date only days away, I thought the wait staff should know the menu a little better. Also, when my steak was brought out, they noticed I didn't have a steak knife, so they said they'd bring one out for me. After waiting about 5 minutes, I gave up and cut into it with my butter knife. Good thing the meat was tender enough. I plan on going back again real soon, so I hope my next experience will be good enough to rate this place 5 stars, they deserve it.
by Jason R. on I went to the Box night before last and I'm still trying to dry out my liver and erase that which I saw. Man, what a show. I had been hanging out at an art opening with one of the owners a couple nights earlier and he mentioned that we should come in and check it out. I had no idea what a big deal it was and he hooked us up with a VIP lounge, which I'm told would have cost us several thousand (if we were paying.) He told us to be prepared. Something about a recent act who could lip sync to Brittney Spears with her "other" lips....He said, "Dude, I've been to Bangkok, and ain't seen sh*t like this." Anyway, if you're a sinner, as I am, The Box feels like home.
