This club gave me the WORSE experience I have ever had in SF.  We had a group of 30+ and we could not get in even though we had a higher girls to guys ratio.  The club was not busy as other friends who got in an hour earlier said no one was inside. Our friend tried to get it set up a month prior to going but no response from the staff.  Anyone looking to stand outside, not have fun, and talk with staff that don't want the club to earn $$$s, Manor West is the place.

every city should have a music venue this cool.  i really really really love this place, and i get so depressed when acts i want to see get booked into the north star bar or the first unitarian church as opposed to here. i should state i've never eaten here.  i'm reviewing this place as a music venue not a restaurant, and i've been there for shows probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 times.  i will go see bands i've never heard of, but hear good things about, i love this place so much. first - great sound system.  you can hear the band clearly from in front of the stage, up on the balcony, at the bar, and even a bit in the bathrooms - which is great because you can take a pee break and feel like you've missed nothing. second - great setup.  love the balcony.  one band i saw there, whose name i am forgetting but they were 5 guys from chicago, totally used the entire venue as their stage which i loved.  they had a trumpet and a trombone, and the musicians using those pieces strolled the audience, making appearances up on the balcony to play down to the crowd below.  it was beautiful.  also on setup & design of the place, the upstairs women's bathroom is a work of art.  i could seriously live in there.  the lighting in the whole venue is gorgeous. service is awesome - there's a bar right there, but also roaming waitresses to take your drink order at the less-crowded shows.  and beers are cheap and local.  love it. i can't think of any reason not to love this place, other than shows sell out here a lot.

It is very hard for me to give this place four stars vs. five.... I want to give it five but.... I took my boyfriend to NYC for his Christmas present, and I reserved us a table here a month in advance.  I requested the skybox as I wanted us to have a view of the whole restaurant and buddha. Reservations were for 8:30pm, but we weren't seated until 9:30pm.  However, we snagged up two great seats at the bar and had a few yummy cocktails prior to dinner.  We had to check on the table twice - the first time my beau went, the second time I walked up (I'm the more forceful of the two of us), and as I was standing there waiting to check a gentleman walked up to the hostess, inquired about a table, she said it would be about an hour - he slipped her a $20 and she said she had something coming up soon.  I then tilted my head to the right, looked at her and said "I'm assuming that's not my table you 'have coming up'."  She sat us right away.  That is why the minus one star - other than that, the dinner was perfect! We got the best table - up top with with a great view of restaurant and buddha, just as I had hoped.  We had a phenomenal server, incredibly yummy food - we enjoyed a variety of rolls for appetizer, I had the Thai fish hot pot and my boyfriend had the grilled Kobe beef rib-eye.  For dessert we shared a HUGE fortune cookie filled with white chocolate and milk chocolate mouse, and also a molten chocolate cake - BOTH out-of-this-world.  Did I mention they carried, and we devoured, my fav sake - Wakatake Onigoroshi, Demon Slayer, Junmai Daiginjo? The decor, the food, the vibe - all superb.  Had it not been for the hour long wait, WITH reservations and bribery (haha, sneaky sneaky), it would have been a perfect 5.  Loved it! -
