My, my, my - who would have thought I would have fallen for this?  But I did - and HARD. Love potion No. 9 status. Went with 2 friends for restaurant week.  All of us being food enthusiasts, we decided we would all order different things and be equal partakers in it all.  Best kind of crowd to go with.  So now you get a break down of everything we ate. I present to you: THE (taste) BUD CHRONICLES STARTERS Zalatim & Hummus - We got BOTH as compliments of the chef for it being restaurant week (or something of the sort - I don't ask questions when complimentary dishes are thrown my way).  The laffa bread is something akin to pita bread meets flat bread and they have a threesome with deliciousness.  The hummus was a pillowy delight that was not overpowered by neither citrus nor tahini.  The Zalatim (8 mini starters) were a great way to get our palate excited about the food to come. AND THEN IT DID... Crispy Haloumi - gently pan-fried sheep's milk cheese accompanied by a date paste and roasted pine nuts.  The cheese was velvety, yet crisp (akin to a fluffy queso fresco) and perfection with the date paste.  The pine nuts balanced it with an earthy tone. Chraime - Moroccan fish stew w. halibut, tomatoes and peppers.  The halibut was properly cooked, the broth had this very delicate flavor: smoky, crisp, yet hearty.  This would also be an awesome hangover cure (think menudo, minus the hominy and tripe :-) ) Fried Cauliflower - served with a chive, dill, mint, garlic cream.  DELISH. I have never eaten fried cauliflower, and my - what I've been missing.  We were too busy frying tacos growing up.  Cauliflower isn't at the top of a Mexican kitchen's priority list.  DEF gonna change that. Note on the cream: the dill is the most prominent flavor, followed by the mint. Jerusalem Grill (MY FAVORITE) - Grilled duck hearts served with "dirty" rice and pine nuts. OMG - LOVED IT.  Note that I am a fan of offal.  So if you're not quite the adventurous type or definitely not the fan of organs, don't get this.  BUT give it a chance.  The outside is so crisp and flavorful and once you bite into it its tender - as tender as a heart can be.  Definitely much more than my own ;-) Chocolate semifreddo - awesomeness embodied.  That simple. Now THAT was a lovely meal. We had other dishes.  I focused on those that stood out the most to me, but it was ALL delicious.

It's nice that they have a ton of tables in different settings, but they should really hire more waitstaff. Must have waited 30 minutes to even get a drink menu. Also, the DJ upstairs changes songs too quickly. And he cut off Don't Stop Believing before the chorus, which is absolutely evil. Bitching aside, I like this place. Not paying cover is cool, the interior is visually appealing, it's spacious, good looking crowd, not too pretentious, and the DJ plays decent music (Bonus points for Bell Biv Devoe and Lumidee, large minus for the aforementioned Journey-ending). Some constructive criticism for the owners of Park if they read their own rateclubs reviews: * Hire more servers. If you need to, start charging a small cover. I'd be wiling to pay $5 if I get a drink at a table in under an hour. * Get better speakers for the upstairs. That shit's got no bass at all. * Tell the bartenders not to card. It's a waste of time if you already card at the door. * Tell the DJ to let the songs ride out before switching. And don't cut off Journey. Srriously.

Woo-Hoo The beats were hot and the space was so right. The one thing I liked about this place was that it wasn't trying to be some other club in the MPD. I had heard many a stories about the crowd here, that it was messy/trashy. However when I went, Sunday, the crowd was fairly alright. I don't recall seeing anything cute, but not insanely tragic. There were the big tits and plastic surgeries walking around that Russ W. mentions, but apart from that.. I like how the bar was back lit really sexy and that the floor was sunken. I like to see my prey when i am boozing and dancing around the floor. Plus, I loved the lights that were in the room that would flash here and there - nice. I swear that the disco ball is larger than the space itself. Oh, a nice little place in the back, outside, for you to mingle and smoke.
