I was part of Wil E's group this past Saturday night and oh boy, was I disappointed in Manor West's service. This club must think by being exclusive that they'll get more people in but guess again, you start treating your customers like crap and you're going to become ex-Manor West soon enough. I wasn't involved in the planning nor was I near the door talking to the bouncers but all I know is our big group of 30+ people came there at 9:45-10am and we were turned away because we weren't on the guestlist. As my friend Wil stood at the door trying to get in contact with the event planner and talking to the bouncers, we were repeatedly asked to move off the sidewalk. We weren't even blocking the club, we were at the next door down in front of some student union...umm, the last time I looked, a club does not own the sidewalk of a neighboring area. What do they want us to do, step into the street and get hit by a car? Maybe they'd prefer that so they'll get some publicity in the news and when people hear about Manor West and show up, they'll get turned away because they weren't on some "guestlist" and the ugly cycle repeats. Yup, I'm definitely bitter (can't you tell?). I've never been turned away from a club before and uh, you're no freaking Club XS or Pure in Vegas. Keep riding on your high & mighty horse and if next year I'm in SF and should happen to stroll down Harrison and see a different club in place of Manor West, I will not be surprised and merely laugh and keep walking on.

(Aug/ 2007) We celebrated a birthday here with some friends for dinner. It's a great place with its own unique flair. The place is huge with a ginormous Buddha as its centerpiece. This is a perfect place to dine before heading out to enjoy the NYC nightlife. The food was great and we even got a birthday dessert on the house!

By day - restaurant. By night - college bar. It's more a bar than a restaurant. I think in the bar aspect, it fails horribly. It's no more than a small room with neon lights, cheesy decor and music coming out of someone's laptop. It charges cover, is always packed and can be tons of fun, depending on the crowd. It's a college bar, what can you expect? 2 stars because their burgers, fries and other bar food is OFF THE HOOK.
